Post subject: | FINAL STRIKE |
Let's discuss this here. Get rid of it: yes or no? Replace it: with what? Personally, I think that it should require massive amounts of RP to come back from. After what I did to get back, and the time and effort put into my death RP, let me just publicly say that Faerti's FS pissed me the hell off. She made demands from Tiadre to come back, and then QQ'd her way through the punishment that the Gods gave her. Between that nonsense and the immediate deletion of a character after a final strike, I can understand why it leaves a sour taste in some players' mouths. I think avoiding the FS-delete-delete can be subverted by a flag that prevents you from deleting for X-amount of days after the spell is cast - OR simply by incorporating the ability to delete into the FS flag itself. Please, feel free to discuss. |

I enjoy seeing final strike used well. However, I this hardly ever happens. Using final strike right before deletion has only one purpose: griefing players without punishment. You're right, it does leave a sour taste in my mouth. If it were to be removed, I don't know what I'd replace it with. Sorcs seem to be a great class without it. I didn't vote because I'm not sure how I feel on it. At the very least, I'd like to see some ideas to prevent FS deletions. |

BTW when I final striked it was not folloew directly by Delete, delelte. I noded to ealuriel said that was for earlier and she left, I told the newbie to talk to hana for help and that I was sorry he was caught up in it, I then quit, I came back later after copying everything and then deleted. |

The point is that final strike is only supposed to be used at great cost to the character. It's not supposed to be a final "Ha ha! I got you!" at the end of your character's life. What you got was a penalty free I win kill with a full loot. From my understanding, that is not what the spell was intended to be. |

I have seen far to many idiotic uses of final strike compared to well timed, well used, well rped uses. Fartie and this newb Klee are just recent additions to a long long line of stupidity. Now, changing it to add the flag is a good step, and has drastically changed the amount of stupid that goes on. I rarely ever play sorcs, but I would think that most sorcs would rather have something useful than this spell that few even practice, yet alone use, and even then, most often only once ever. |

Get rid of it, give sorcs a sweet spell that lets them generally locate where people are. |

Get rid of it, replace it with a spell that lets you polymorph other people. Sorcs should be able to turn people into frogs and such. Temporary effect, of course. |

Get rid of final strike. It does more harm than good to the game. Sorcs don't need a buff. Don't replace it with anything. They'll be fine. I agree voodoo should be replaced with something (something awesome but not cheap), but I guess that's for another thread. |
