Alright, the new system is a million times better than the old one, but still.

So, I got arrested, lost a lot of eq, and got like 49 days in jail. I spend an hour or so sitting in jail, then log off. I didn't even log back on for like 2 days. I log back on, and get "You have 36 days to go!" and I'm tempted to just say screw it and start a new character.

There really needs to be some sort of penalty BESIDES basically removing your character from the game for weeks on end, because OMG YOU WERE PLAYING YOUR CHARACTER. Just sending tells gets boring when you have absolutely nothing else to do.

On a side note, I swear to god, auto surrender needs to be removed, and replaced with a COMMAND not a toggle. I was in Exile, killed a templar, then gate to Nerina and got YOU ARE ARRESTED!!!

You IC caused problems and this is what the players did IC to deal with you. Learn from your mistakes is all I got to say.

Yeah...except the players didn't do [REDACTED]? Somewhere between me gating from Exile to Teron, and then a couple minutes later to Nerina my auto surrender toggle somehow got changed? That's not what this is about anyways. Jail basically discourages you from playing. I don't think that's good for the game. Though I'm sure the mud would rejoice if I deleted Ealuriel and made a new character.

I actually liked that collar thing that the imms gave Faerti. Why not have something like that to replace jail? It could stop you from getting attacks/casting spells/using the kill command/wtfever. But you could, you know, still go around, if you wanted.

I'm going to buck the trend and say that I like having Ealuriel in the game.

No one can accuse her of not RPing her PKs, and she makes life interesting. Sometimes not in a GOOD way, but still interesting.

The world is more exciting with Ealuriel in it.

As for the auto surrender toggle thing, I have no clue. Sounds like a bug to me.

The auto surrender thing is, unfortunately, a known bug, but impossible to replicate and thus fix.

It sucks, agreed, but unless the tribunal leaders are completely fubar, you can usually get the sentence cut by agreeing to some kind of deal - and the jail system is quite well-functioning at the moment.

You have to take into account that normally, players who rank up these kind of outlaw lists usually have more than enough allies to successfully stage a jail break - you're sort of a unique case in that matter.

Overall, while I agree that this situation sucks (especially because of the toggling bugging) my sentiments are that the jail system functions quite well at the moment.

And on an entirely unrelated note - there should be a command to release someone from jail, but retain their banish-flag, especially for these kinds of situations.

While I understand your sentiments, and I sympathize with your sentence, I'd have to say that the current system is good for now. Is it boring? Of course. But you lost over 10 days without spending a moment in the game. That's not bad. A few more days, and you'll be free and clear...

PS You might have more friends than you think too...

You know, there's this thing called breaking out of jail. You should try it sometime.

I'm already out. It doesn't change the fact that jail is really stupid.

I don't see an issue here being that there is more then one way out of jail, you can avoid lengthy sentances by turning yourself in after you do something, and no one said you had to do all those crimes to get in jail in the first place.

If anything more time could be credited to characters who are offline, but in all honesty I think everything is fine.

You got more than ten days off the time for staying off the mud for two IRL days, to me thats amazing! Stop QQing.
