So granted this may have been covered already since I've been gone for quite some time but I feel that while 95% of the new changes since my absence are terrific there is one change that while convenient is a glaring offense to the rogue class; money and containers.

The new method of being able to know your cumulative worth is great and helpful as is the ability to pull money from any orifice without typing a command, however having no reason to keep money out in your inventory at all is really kind of just taking away a major part of the steal skill from rogues. I remember when I played one ages ago that being one of the first cool 'rogue' skills to get (other than bs) I had tons of fun and lots of rp stem from simply trying to mug people in the inn of their coin. It really isnt hard to get all.coin sack before you buy something so while it made things convenient the cost to rogues seems kind of steep. Besides, while there are many other things you can steal as a rogue, newer players and inexperienced characters like to steal coin, plain and simple. I'd say to keep the cumulative worth ability but remove the ability to take out coins to buy things automatically, we should be responsible for doing that on our own, forgetting about the money in our pocket and run the risk of being nicked.

The only reason I don't agree is when you do automatically pull out your coins and buy the thing, the change sits in your inventory until moved. I could maybe see having all of your coins go to inventory when you pay for something (Imagine carrying a bag of sorted coins around. Can you really picture the character pulling out as close to exact change as possible every time?) But I don't think removing the feature altogether is key.

Uhm, people are still newbs when it comes to coins....I'm playing a rogue now, and the rest of the rogue skill set is so great, that this is incredibly minor and really unimportant. I mean anyone with a half sense of the game and economy system can raise ten obsidian in two hours.

broke = no money :wink:

You guys make pretty good points, I just remember my first character being a rogue and that was half the fun for me; robbing people. To each his own i suppose, I just don't really see the point in the function other than laziness at the cost of protection from getting mugged, thats really my only issue with it... if you can even call it an 'issue,' don't play a rogue so don't really care.

Personally, I feel that rogues need incredible boosts to be even partial competition in today's high-paced SK world.

Firstly, I'd like to see steal and plant thrown out since no one really uses them. You could maybe replace them with an applicable poison they could put on their weapons. Maybe even diseases and things like that, if it wouldn't be too broken. I really like double backstab and think it should definitely be kept.

Secondly, rogues are a melee class and definitely need access to at least platemail armor to remain competitive as well as larger weapons such as axes and polearms and such.

Thirdly, I think rogues are terrifying and this should be brought up in their class with a move that might give them a chance for their enemies to not be able to attack them or something to that effect. It could be called something simple like Terrify, I guess.

Finally, rogues are really smooth talkers and should be able to persuade people into following them as a body guard. Kind of like Charm Person, but only things weaker than them, since it's "in their best interest" and not just dominating their mind.

Here's to getting a class in dire need of some TLC the buff it needs.

I agree with Rynusi's point and seeing that he plays a rogue, I tend to take his comment as having a lot of weight. Rogues are fine and stealing coin is an unnecessary risk when it is so easily obtained via economy changes.

Parnys is being facetious, Rynusi. Parnys is always being facetious.

On the upside, you look really stupid right now. :P

I saved your post before you deleted it, Rynusi.
You're adorable when you're angry, you know.
