How exactly the eye-washer works?

It took me quite a while to figure it out and suddenly it doesn't work...

1) Hold washer in hand.

2) Acquire dirt in your eyes. (Does not work for blindness)

3) type "use"

I think it should be used while in the inventory. The item was made to offer some convenience to the player and it can't be used in combat anyway.

Back on topic.

1. Wear the washer
2. Type "use" while dirted

I get an empty returned line.

EDIT: Send up a pray if you want me to look at it. I might be hard to reach since I'm trying to build stuff, but if I hear it I'll investigate.

When typing "use" after having dirt in your eyes, you should see THIS:

[HP: 79%] [ME:100%] [PE: 99%]
> You use something.
You rub the dirt out of your eyes.

[HP: 79%] [ME:100%] [PE: 99%]

If it's doing absolutely nothing, you may have simply used it too many times.

I never did understand -why- it was never usable in the inventory. Once you get up to a certain level (if you're good enough, the moment you can buy a tank), those who would be able to keep an eyewasher in their hand don't even need it. Its the ones that use shields (or a second sword) that get screwed over.

because that makes dirt kick useless?

No it doesn't because you can't use the washer when you or your party is in combat.

Preventing you to flee as a mage/use eye washer and come back and own a simple barbarian!?

If they are simple, you should own them anyways!

Now I can't get the image out of my head of a mage trying to shield himself from attack while he struggles to use an eye dropper. Hilarious.
