o Affect: 'gate'

Curious about what this means, I don't recall seeing it before. Perhaps this is to prevent gates closing immediately on a tick?

edit: Apparently it's been like this for a while. Can it be tweaked to give gate a timer not tick-based?

I've noticed the actual gates are object-exits you cannot pick up.
The spell EEEEEEffect probably relates to the ephemeral existence of these objects.

I do not claim to be an authority on this subject, but I believe Dulrik has stated in the past that this is something not easily done. Gates are tied to the rooms they are created in, so changing the timer would be rather difficult. I am sure he can give you a more detailed explanation than I.

I believe gates are tied to the tick of the room the character is in, which is why they are an EEEEEEffect on the character rather than the rooms.

This is the only way both gates could close at the same time that I can think of.
