Post subject: | Idea: Tribunal Tax Command |
Hello, I've complained about coin farming before and I'm going to do it again. Like I used to say when I played Estobar, my character is a barbarian not a damn banker. And I was right he was. So I came up with this idea, It's a new command for tribunal leaders. It's called Tribunal Tax. As everyone knows, and I don't think this is secret, Tribunal leaders can Tribunal spend to improve public works. Now they can tribunal tax. What tribunal tax is is a command as I said that allows tribunal leaders to get a small percentage from transactions done in their kingdom. Say you do tribunal tax 25 that means if someone buys or sells an item in your kingdom 25 percent of that price goes into the trib account. So someone selling an item for 4 gold somewhere would get three and the local trib would get 1. Same goes for buying, If a character buys an item for four gold the shop earns three and the trib account earns 1. You could tribunal tax say between 0 and 50 percent maybe? The down side is is that no one might ever come into your kingdom to do business again if you do it to much, the up side is you don't have to do as much coin farming. Also the healers in the kingdom would give that percentage to the trib account too. This is idea is open to modification, and suggestions. Nothing here is written in stone. I'm just trying to make it so you can play sk without daily coin farming. Some classes can farm coin real easy, like sorcerors, For others it's considerably harder. Yes this idea isn't perfect. For example evil corrupt trib leaders might tribunal tax everyone for fifty percent all the time, then change it down to zero for their friends and allies and themselves, but isn't that good rp for bad chars anyway? |

A good basic idea, however using your example of something costing 4 gold at a tax of 25%, instead of 3 gold going to the "vendor" and 1 to coffers - it should raise the price (after the price inflation code has already run) up to 5 gold. This would make taxes a double edged sword. |

THIS WILL RUIN SMALL BUSINESS IN TASLAMAR. How is poor Sellenius the soup maker going to afford this tax? He will have to stop with the bread for orphans! The orphans will starve! |

This makes much more sense than the tax cutting into the price already set by the vendors. That said, it's a great idea. |
