Alright I'm pretty sure everyone here who does not play a sorceror, and even some that do will admit this wand needs to be wimped or removed from the game. Simply put this wand makes wand users invincible in PVP because it can be used to instantly put someone in etherealform. Etherealform is not broken when it has to be casted, that's why it has such an insanely long cast time. The instantly part is the problem. Not to mention sorcerors with 5 mirror images and this wand are the most incredibly difficult thing to kill in the game. Even if you taunt them they can just zap and wait for taunt to wear off and go their merry way. This wand isn't an "I win" button, but it's an "I don't die ever" button. Unless you have one of two(?) items in the game that will allow other classes to enter etherealform it is impossible to kill someone with this wand. It's highly unbalanced right now and it's the reason why people who should eventually die in PVP never do, because of this one simple wand. This isn't a rant but really just a call for this item to be removed or changed drastically. I play a sorceror as well and it would highly benefit my class. If proof of the abuse of this wand is necessary I can dig up quite a few logs of its abuse in PVP situations. |

While I agree this wand is ridiculous. I even brought it up on numerous occasions while playing a sorc. It completely broke every class with the 'wands' skill. You're forgetting uh...Ethereal scrolls. And there's more than one of the wand. Why don't you get one for your team? Rogues/Priests/Warlocks/Necromancers/Sorcs all have extremely easy access to the ethereal plane. Failure to kill somebody in the ethereal plane is just failure to actually put some prep in on your OWN side. Jesus. Taunt the caster and have a rogue go ethereal. |

It's one of those items that rewrites a skill. If there were ethereal herbs, or something similar for melee type to use more conveniently than yet another rare item, then ethereal would be scarier for the lack of group formation. But, honestly, I think there should be herbs for every spell, so that's just me.

Etherealform wands existed way before the vortices wands, if the vortice wands were gone people would just use the others instead. Sorcs, warlocks, necromancers, shaman, bard, rogues, paladins (cross aura), priests, ALL of these have ways to deal with ethereal enemies, and that doesn't even factor in the ether wire. Just because you can't beat it with bash bash bash bash doesn't mean it's imbalanced. |

I do not see an issue with this wand. Removing it does nothing since you can easily scribe the spell and use it just the same. |

I'll put it like this. When people login at midnight on the 1st of a month to see if an item is available, it warrants a certain degree of examination. ... And Craft Wand/Staff would be pretty nice. |
