There are a ton of random keys in the game and it's nigh impossible to find out where each and every one goes to, thus I propose that bards should be able to identify which door / lock a key goes to by the use of lore.

Thoughts? Ideas? Y eah I know this is a lot of work and such, but just kinda curious what you guys thought.

Hrm.

Perhaps if in the object type, where "It is a medium key" or whatever, we could see via ID and lore what the object type of its linked object is.

"It is a medium door key"

"It is a tiny container key"

etc.

I have suggested this in the past and I still stand behind adding it.

I am 100% for this and I'd like to suggest something else.

When builders create new areas also create guides for those areas. No, you don't have to give up every damn secret to it, let us figure some stuff out, but at least supply detailed maps with a list of features and gear maybe? There are soooo many awesome areas in the MUD that have been forgotten with time because there is no IC way to figure out how awesome they are.

The old-fashioned way, pixel ditching, is in theory still viable.

It's a polite way of saying something else.

I don't like this idea. Sure, it might be handy, but it doesn't really make a lot of sense thematically.

It's one thing to find a piece of treasure or a well-known weapon, but completely another to find some random, plain looking key (not that they're all plain looking). The furthest you should get is maybe the general location of the door it opens, if that.
