Well kind of. I thought of this idea as a way for non tribunal members to contact members of a tribunal. If say, I would like to talk to a guardian and am not sure who on the who list is a guardian, I would go to the Ayamao Judge or the inn in sithaniel and type in - Law. This would notify all tribunal members that XXXX is looking for a Guardian, much like the mentor command. (I also thought this could work well with religions, but one thing at a time I suppose) |

But better. Instant. That way if any member were online, they could be notified. |

This idea has merit, and should be used for faiths (at temples), Cabals (perhaps someplace neutral like portal stones?) and Tribunals. I said portal stones for Cabals because, while you can always walk up to the entrance of a keep, the risk of potentially being seen, and the threat of being perceived as an attacker would be negated by moving the "alert" to the portal stones. Or you could pick some other neutral place. As I understand, though, being a part of a Tribunal is sort of never supposed to be secret, so I doubt they're going to put a whole lot of weight on ensuring you can make contact with a Trib quietly. Just an observation. I really like this idea. |

It could also help out contacting those that are hidden or invisible or maybe even dead that some may not be able to see. |

The game already has the code to do this. We could recycle the code that handles the news board and have it so that only flagged members could 'read' the board, but anyone could 'post' to it. Additional functionality could be coded to allow people to see their own posts or replies that include their name in the "to" field. This would be incredibly convenient but borders close to the "global channels" the game prides itself on lolmostlynot having. Or if we really wanted to get fancy, we could dig up the code for the "all" recipient and add recipients like "Talon," "Crucible," "Aludra," etc. This would be more in-character as it would bind the messaging service to locations with boards. I know what I'd like to see is a more robust API for builders to interact with boards by automating posts and post management. And also to be able to see more than 255 posts or whatever the limit is. |

Right. That's all fine and dandy, but OP doesn't want a board. On Nytomi as a member of the Talon, when a character was started in Nerina, you got a message from the Proving Grounds Instructor saying so, with the character's name even. OP wants that same thing, but instead for when you type something like "Law" at the Judge of Ayamao, the Judge will send a tell to all guardians on at the time saying that so-and-so is looking to speak with a member of the guardians, or something along those lines. |

Yea. I meant like an instant message. |

Dulrik has made it clear he wants to avoid global channels, so I don't see "tell Talon" coming anytime soon. Right now, titles are the best tool we have for that sort of information broadcast. |
