Attacking a tribunal member in their own kingdom isn't against the law.... That is very lame. So I can go outside and attack a police officer and not get into trouble cause he is the law? This code should be changed, for attacking a NPC guard is still reportable and thus attacking a player guard should also be against the law. Murder is Murder.

Also why can't one view (while dead) a silly wanted poster which I see as being posted on a wall behind the Judge?

I seen this in action too. I seem to remember being able to report people who attacked me as early as my last leadership. Sounds like a bug to me. If not, that really does make no sense.

Although later, after an attempt was made on myself and I witnessed cubanoh's character's death, I was able to report it (after about 20 min when I thought to check).

Actually, this code was put in place purposefully, and because of abuse by tribunal members: Certain players were attacking people and then, due to their law immunity, reporting the person they attacked.

It's... unfortunate. Is it actually the lesser or greater of two evils? At the time, it was the better choice. That may or may not be true now, but the code is still in place and probably won't get reverted.

It isn't quite as bad for the tribunal member as it sounds: Every other crime except for attempted murder and mugging is reportable on tribunal members, and if you have a guard that is attacked in any way, his crimes can be reported also.

Yeah this is a real gem of the lawl code. Probably won't get changed.

Been better off to just kick them out of the tribunal for abusing such a thing. Just really silly if you ask me :(

I agree.

The funniest thing to do is to make a sorcerer who is constantly on mode stun. You just go around charming tribunal members, taking them outside their country, and murdering them. And you can't get outlawed for it! It's the perfect blend of absurdly OP charm code and absurdly absurd law code.

I agree, the code should be changed. Attacking guards shouldn't add charges to a character, because jail is stupid.

Granted it makes no IC sense. But before the change, it was too easy for a tribunal to get somone outlawed. The tribunal member didn't even have to attack. All he had to do was to provoke an attack: Very few characters in a PK/RP game are above striking out against the right taunts or threats. But tribunals were never meant to outlaw people at will.

*shrug* The outlaw code is primarily there to make attacking "innocent" PCs more trouble than it's worth. It still does that, since no group member is "innocent" in that sense.

Honestly, the code is still easy to bend. Kaiya could just order Balacha mode stun, order him to kill her, then when she's up and at 1% go slap someone and more often than not get an easy high murder charge that results in an even easier banishment.

If there's another Talon online, they could just order their priestess to rez Kaiya before the bounty NPCs even know what happened.

The real solution to all this is to just be able to toggle PVP in cities and abandon law code entirely. It'd result in more interaction; right now people just hide. At least then you'd have a chance of running into someone after they got gear.

This is Ardith's fault. (Really.) He was taunting people with his Peacekeeper swashie, and then reporting them. Fepel bitched about it, and the code got tweaked.
