Hmm. Or, we could just be more conscientious players that go out of our way to interact with new characters. I know lots of people go out of their way to share the game with new characters, and are very patient with new players. Any pressure to level is artificial, I have a veteran character who is tons of fun.
You do realize that the "unique items" are for events, right? We don't have the staff on hand to churn out 30 days of events and new items. Plus, if everyone got one, they'd sort of be less special, wouldn't they? If we have a month-long bonanza, what happens to the new players that -do- come, when you slip the bonus xp tablecloth out from under them? And when playcounts again drop because the vets who have been besting the contests and winning all the unique items in the first place lose interest again, what happens to that incentive?
