This skill needs a slight tweak to modify the amount of lag time that the person bashing suffers through. A successful bash should lag the person for the same amount of time that a victim is bashed.

Nah. There should be an privilege associated with landing a bash beyond the imperceptible advantage in accuracy.

What should happen, however, is that bashing a prone person invokes the same amount of lag that a prone person suffers when entering a command, to help curb spam bashing.

Bashing someone should give you a benefit over not bashing them, especially since it comes with the innate risk of actually missing a bash and totally screwing yourself over.

Spam bash is good for the game. It's one of the few ways to actually kill people with a modicum of success.

It's one of the few ways for less skilled warrior classes to do so, yes. I'm not entirely sure that the remainder of your highly subjective statement has any merit at all.

Prone status should carry a -weapon speed penalty to be honest. Go prone, get 1 less attack a round. And if anything, bash should be less successful. Spam bash is terrible for tactics. The skill is used almost to the exclusion of other skills in a merc/barb's skillset.

Bash will lag you for three round when hit with it, I would say a round and a half to two round lag like trip but have prone like lag so spaming the command causes excess lag.

Phone sucks, but I agree with bash needing to fail more often too. Tripping a person is much harder than slamming into them and keeping you feet.

I might agree with ardith on this one.

There is something to be said for the idea that bashing should only be advantageous when you're going to win the fight, and just need to keep the target in one place. Being able to quaff heals in between bashes lets inferior warriors beat their superiors.

So... it's all EQ and stats that make a warrior superior? You seem to be defining a "superior" warrior by one who should be able to issue no commands at all and yet still win a fight.

In my book, a superior warrior is someone who gets a leg up on his opponent by bashing him -so that- he can quaff heals. If you can beat someone by bashing them and quaffing heals, and you do, then you're not the one who was inferior.

Bash lands waaaaay to successfully. My sprite shaman in a GM armor spell, max dex and stance defensive gets bashed by PCs just as easily as any low dex, non-melee character I've had before. It's definitely a far more frequently used I-win for warrior classes right now, especially with the recent tweeks to stance defensive/aggressive.

Your sprite shaman has this really cool ability that lets him completely avoid bash. Also, everyone has this really cool ability called "not being in the front row", or order rescue, that also allows them to get around bash.
