So, minotaurs can only be mercs, barbs, scouts or shamans. Why not warlocks?

I'm assuming it has something to do with this:
Quote:
the minotaur also cursed themselves for even once trusting in the power of gods over spirits
and this:
Quote:
A warlock receives his powers from Yed, the great lord of the elemental planes and all warlocks must pledge their powers to his service.
(from: minotaur-culture & warlock helpfiles)

But there have been plenty of warlocks that don't pledge their service to Yed. Some that outright deny they get power from him. And I can easily see it argued that a minotaur would say they get their warlock powers from the waterspirits, earthspirits, etc, if sticking to the rejection of Gods thing is important. But then again, there have been plenty of minotaurs that join religions. Other than these reasons, the only other one would be because its OPed or imbalanced, which I don't think it would be, even though I think a minotaur warlock would be pretty legit.

Anyway, discuss. If you guys could give reasons to your votes, that would be excellent.

I'm ambivalent, leaning toward yes.

On one hand, I would think that a minotaur would be too temperamental to be able to focus and apply themselves enough to study magic.

But then again, there are minotaur shamans. And the help files kind of give the feeling, at least imo, that warlocks are sort of supposed to be loose cannons.

As far as the whole thing about how warlocks are supposed to devote their service to Yed, though.. It's all about choice. Over the years, various Yed followers have hunted down warlocks who pledge their service to any other god. But then there have been Yed followers who don't mind if they do, so long as they pay their proper respects. It brings an interesting element to the rp.

Yed is one of those gods where I have always felt is very boarder line between being a god as we understand them and being something else. It is an embodiment of elemental forces. The spheres of yed are far more tangible than any of the other gods and so it would seem to me to be something a minotaur would not have any issue with worshiping. It is just giving praise to the land they work, the water they drink, the fire they use and the air they breath.

It's a fact that warlocks get their powers from Yed. It's also a fact that Yed doesn't care very much about what the people using his powers are doing. They can even join other religions if they want. All they have to do is acknowledge that their power comes from Yed. If you see a warlock who claims otherwise, that's probably something that could make Yed annoyed enough to shut off their powers, if he hears about it.

But minotaurs have only four options and are the only race that can't be warlocks. Seriously, giant warlocks but no minotaur warlock? The only ones!
