The movement hosing on this spell is awesome, but it sucks because it hardly ever lands. Can the xp damage be removed, and the spell just target movement?

Help file on energy drain lies. Against players, the spell is even nastier as it will also PERMANENTLY drain the victim of a large amount of their life experience." Shouldn't that mean victim shouldn't be able to regain that life experience? So if you are edrained and lose a level the help file states that you permanently lost it, meaning you can't regain it.

It permanently drains XP, it doesn't permanently lower your max XP. You just have to regain that xp later.

Like getting brought back by some way other than resurrection and the oracle for the first time. You permanently lose the XP there as well. Just go level some more and you get it back.

In other words always energy drain Ardith and Syns characters.

I think the XP drain is stupid, because it can be used to grief other players, and when used against newer players to the game it is even nastier, because people who actually know what they are doing can easily regain it.

Energy drain hasn't been an issue for a decade. We finally wimped it so hard that the spell practically disintegrated. I kind of miss those golden days when energy drain was the most cried about spell in the game.

Back when you could keep on energy draining people. Necros would energy drain people on mode stun if i remember correctly and just keep draining. Back then xp was extremely hard to get as well unless you exploited the system somehow.

I kinda miss those days, I do. But I think energy drain is fine enough as it is. Perhaps it needs a slight buff. It can as a max only take one tick of xp per irl day right?
