Given the changes to the warlock class, I think centaurs will be completely unplayable if there is any active warlock. I do not have a clear idea of what would be an appropriate buff to make this class worth playing, but figured I'd start a thread to bring attention to it.

Disclaimer: I currently play a warlock who is not a centaur, so this is not a conflict of interest post.

Because of their weakness to fire?

Warlock spells, including magma were buffed, I believe. And RE is no longer brewable. This did disproportionately affect centaurs because of their weakness to fire, I agree.

Their resistance to acid and cold does not compete with their terrible weakness to fire. I say just get rid off their strength to acid and cold and remove their fire weakness. Having 16 dex is terrible enough.

I wouldn't be pro removing it completely, but perhaps reducing that(if that's possible code wise) or perhaps even raising their dex cap.

Leave their dex cap as it is. Reduce their vulnerability to fire A LOT or even remove it completely. There are enough mechanic disadvantages to those who decide to RP a centaur already. Low dex, mediocre int, special pieces of gear that they need to look for etc etc.

Unless magma damage was buffed a -whole- lot, even spam magma isn't something that most centaurs should need to worry about.

A) Centaur shaman and priest can most certainly still outheal the damage given that magma can probably still only stick once, and as such only do double damage once. Sanc also still cuts the damage from magma, which makes a massive difference. Centaur paladin also still gets sanc and protection, hellion gets protection as well combined with the fact that hellions typically aren't front row.

B) Centaur scout can keep shooting while eating healing herbs, completely avoiding even spam magma.

C) Centaur barbarian HP is among the highest HP from a PC possible in SK, and since magma is still fixed damage that gives you buffer space in between when you get magma'd and when you totally rock the warlocks' face.

The biggest classes for centaur that got screwed over here was probably centaur merc, and after that probably centaur barb just on account of melee weapons with a fire attack. I suppose we might just have to see how things end up after some spam fireball action is seen though.

Centaurs can also be Paladins, Hellions, Bards and Warlocks. Centaur Hellions are screwed over this. Centaur bards are nothing but screwed, so I won't discuss their case any further.

I mentioned the first two. Centaur paladin can still self-heal and hold sanctuary and protection, which will all mitigate magma damage.

While centaur hellions can't self-heal or cast sanc, they can still eat sanc herbs and can hold protection: Not to mention hellions usually aren't front row to avoid getting spam-bashed, so they can just quaff heals if they really need.

Centaur bards suck anyway. If necessary they can even polymorph if they want to suck less.

Centaur warlocks get RE.

So, by your PoV nothing would ever need fixing, since there can always be vials and herbs to heal you to whatever may be unbalanced. Please...
