I was thinking it would be somewhat cool if you received a little message like:

"You feel as though someone is trying to contact you."

While you were sleeping. The person attempting to send the tell would still get the same message that they would generally get when trying to send a tell to someone who is asleep.

Apologies if this has been suggested before. It is a pretty basic idea, and I feel like it has likely been suggested in the past.

I don't think it has, but it's a pretty awesome idea. As it is now you have to guesstimate with ticks and spam tells hoping they'll wake. Good suggestion

I'd prefer just being able to receive tells while asleep. Maybe send them also but that might unbalance things like the sleep spell. Good idea in general.

Are you able to use the Cabal channel while asleep? I forget.

Well, in that case, giving those who aren't in a cabal the ability to send tells while asleep isn't really unbalancing, just unrealistic. You can make up some excuse for the cabal channel in the way of, "well, this medium of communication is far more powerful than the average two-way telepathy". The same for group chat, too, but to a lesser degree, in that you can still send group chat tells but can't hear them.

Maybe add this feature to quiet mode too?

It could be the:


Turning it on, will pester you even in quiet mode.
It is unrealistic, but pretty helpful.

Still I love my 'quiet mode' time, as it is though, so it should be toggled.

I like that idea too.

I like the original poster's idea. All around balanced, realistic and useful.

It makes me giggle when people say the word, "realistic" in reference to anything regarding telepathy, except when they're saying that it's not.

That said, I would love to be able to receive and send tells while asleep, especially while playing a priest, or at least get a notification when someone's trying to contact me. That's a gem of an idea.
