Maybe MR should be thought of as a shell around the body that protects, so things that are ingested (pills and potions) do their thing as normal, ignoring MR (or at least largely bypassing it). This change would affect absolutely everybody, from barbs, to enchanters and people who have enchanting done. Maybe if people could still quaff their heals and what not, an enchantment of MR on your armor would be the dreaded curse that most people consider it to be now. Of course with all this MR running around, it might cause some problems for casters.
Good idea? Bad idea? Meh?

Kinda like how Superman's invincible aura of solar energy doesn't prevent food from passing his lips.

I would agree to this if it were for MR armor only and not trained MR stats. The way I see it MR on armor is an external thing but MR trained stats is an internal and external thing. Aldric already proved to us all how insane barbarians are solo with heal vials the last thing we need is a massively damage dealing melee class that is also immune to outside magics.

While I had kind of intended this as a help to MR barbs, it definitely runs the risk of being too powerful for them. But it does make sense that training your body to be MR and wearing a suit of MR could produce different results. So at least if MR enchants are allowed to be ignored this could possibly be a decent start to improving enchantment as a whole. Enchanters and enchantees might not waste so much time throwing away suits as soon as an MR enchant pops up.
