I was under the premise that a person could only be banished from a kingdom if they committed murder of an officer or 10 guards or something like that. Basically they had either a "high murder" or a cumulative amount of "low murders" was this changed or so?

Don't know what you mean by "officer," given that you can kill people in the defending tribunal... but I believe it's only one non-tribunal PC.

No code was changed for banishment. But are you talking about banishment or deportation? Banishment requires committing crimes and it doesn't matter if you are a citizen of the kingdom. Deportation is something that a tribunal leader can do at any time, but only to citizens and (almost always) only at the citizen's request.

In fact, deportation is probably the wrong term, since it's most often used as a way to renounce citizenship.

Deportation happens more for tribunal leaders' whim than citizen request, in my experience.

You can be banished after killing 1 PC (high murder) or X number of NPCs (low murder).

True, the staff has seen it being abused recently and have started taking steps to make sure leaders understand proper use.

Well, I've totally been deported on a leader's whim before.

I'm going to go ahead and post again right away, in case my original post above came off as too strong. In case you are wondering, here are the original deportation guidelines, many of which I had forgotten myself:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1015 (second post below the update notice)

However, we have seen some leaders deporting citizens at a whim and that's what we'll be cracking down on. Always keep in mind as tribunal leader that you are a highly placed government figure, but do not make policy or the law. You need to be able to defend an unwilling deportation as being someone who is clearly hostile to the government of your kingdom.

Basically the way I thought banishment worked was that, to banish a person, they had to have certain requirements met. PK'ing a person in a tribunal for example, vs pk'ing a person not in the tribunal.

Like for example, if you PK a Talon, they could banish you but if you pk'd someone in zhenshi that wasn't a talon, I thought you had to have more than 1 charge to be banished. A high murder vs low murder type thing.

The thing is, my character killed a person in a city who was not part of the tribunal and the tribunal leader banished my character. I was under the impression that killing 1 person, not associated with the tribunal of said city, wouldn't equate to banishment.

I've only been in one situation where I've requested deportation before getting it. One other time it was due to aggression against the kingdom in question (most recent occurance). The other....oh, five or six times I've been deported have been for little to no reason. Be interesting to see if this actually is policed at all by the staff from this point on. You know, kind of like uninducting whole cabals for little to no reason is supposed to be.

I already addressed this question above. When it was made to be not a crime to attack without stunning or killing a trib member, it was made so that it requires more than one NPC kill to be banished. A PC kill is high murder and is banish-worthy.

EDIT: The bolded portion also reads like this to me - [I wouldn't have followed through with the rp of my character or engaged in pk if I knew there was actual RISK involved. I just don't have the cojones to handle consequences to my actions.]
