Why do warlocks not get identify when almost every other spell casting class has it? This really kinda boggles the mind. Hellions, Paladins have it. Priests, Necros, Sorcs all have it. Why are warlocks excluded from it?

I'm sure the official reason is that because they aren't really magic users technically. But of course neither are the clergy classes and yet so many of them have it. It would have been nice if Yed would have demanded identify when he demanded faerie fire. Or at least itt wouldn't be so bad if those wands weren't kept in such limited quantities and held more charges.

I asked why and asked to get it, back when I played Acirin and D said NO. This has been asked several times, unfortunately.

As far as I know, warlocks have never had identify. Not sure how they would "get it back."

Because magic, that's why.

I don't know. I think they should get identify at the least, and also should get enchant armor as a completely irrelevant aside. I can't think of any worthwhile logic to these spells locked down amidst so many magic users, especially warlocks. I really disliked playing a lock without magical basics.

I kind of like that they don't have it. Not every class should have the same spells, even though a majority have this one in particular.

Always thought the justification was that their realm was of the elements. Fire, water, air, earth, damage type, completely different plane than the arcane magics, therefore, no identify or augury type spells for the warlock, who is more of an elemental weaver.

It should be taken away from priests then. Unless you are a priest of magic, that should be their religious spell. :p
