With the current theme of wimping everything into uselessness, I think it's time for Sacred Armor to be removed from the game.

It's a bit ridiculous for people to get a free suit of top quality armor that they will always have access to. It degrades RP and lends itself to people not taking anything seriously, because hey, who cares how many times I die, when I know I'll have a suit of high AC energy that casts protection/armor with 5 mp on each piece when I get rezzed? Often with no effort whatsoever involved in the collecting of this armor.

Sacred EQ should not be on par with stuff like the eq from the boss of the Nightmare Temple. And yet, it is, due to starting enchant caps on EQ. It's even almost on par in terms of scripts, and likely is going to be soon. In fact, it's generally better, because if you want to spend the time, you can sit whereever your eq spawns and enchant it, knowing you're always going to have access to it.

Also, with the recent changes to protection, sacred eq is not needed as an incentive for people to join religions.

Not to mention, half of these sets of eq were the result of some imm seeking brownie points from the players in their faith. A sacred bandalore? Really? A 2-h energy pigsticker? One of the very, very few rogue weapons that is 2-h and breaks SS completely? Sign me up for a spam dying marfikian harlie rogue! (oh right, already did that)

And generally only newbs use it, so it's a bone that they get some loot at some time in their play.

Although I do agree the sets should reworked to make sense, the set should be fully useable by the high follower so all pieces should be tailored to be used by anyone, removing sacred weapons and replacing them with another piece of armor/staff would be nice.

All armor should be energy as it is a devine sacred gift. Allows every class to wear it so whoever the highfollower is can wear it.

You have to wear pretty much a good bit of the set to get the benefit. It's actually one of the reasons why things should probably get reigned back: it takes a few pieces of X to get one (not overwhelming) benefit.

People forget that the buffs given by sacred equipment are not that impressive, and besides the armor/protection or whatever, they don't give much else.

You're missing the point where this armor is ridiculously easy to get in most occasions, and yet, still on par with the /best/ stuff in the game. Nevermind the fact that it's always going to be available to you.

...A set of max AC energy or addy (which you kind of have to wear anyways, it's not like this is taking up an eq slot you'd do something else with, why wouldn't you wear most of the set?) that comes with 4-5 enchants that noone can take from you is pretty damn good in and of itself. If that's going to have scripts, why shouldn't the characters who put in the effort to actually go get the nice items in the game have better crap?

lol, why go to the Dreamscape and get the essence of fear (arguably the hardest trip in the game) when I can just roll a Sadal barb and have permanent access to an addy bandalore and an equal set of armor

You do have better crap, last I checked that sacred armor is really hard to enchant so they get a +5 on every piece while you are running around with a +10 or better.

It has been a while since I have seen someone try to enchant it but last I did it faded it after two tries like every time or blew it up.

Everybody here knows that I'm a little hazy when it comes to mechanics. That being said, I don't know how game-breaking the armor is, but I do like that you get something aside from a slightly different symbol for being the High Follower or High Priest in a religion. I think (probably because there are so many gods for our sized playerbase) that the position of High Priest is sort of downplayed, not thought of as important as it maybe should be. I also think that the High Priest should prefer to wear the sacred garb of his or her God, instead of the awesome stuff from TempleMcKillington, or the YouDieAlotCity. I think they should prefer to wear it, and it being just as good is good incentive for the player who focused on mechanics to also prefer to wear it.

laeZ, you make that sound like people have to do things to earn the position of HP

90% of the time it's the result of that character being the only person in the church, and then they never lose it

I agree with Spellknight(syn) here. While I do like the sacred eq when I do roll char's like Dabi/merc/wakizashi. The Eq is extremely easy to get, besides Dabi really, and is on par with stuff some /groups/ can fail miserably at if done wrong.

I could be wrong but I think my sacred kit is not as cool as your kit. I still need help to get it.

I also notice if I remove a piece of it for RP purposes it evaporates on me :(
