I disagree. Now that heavy armor priest PCs get the spell themselves, have vials of it brewed if you need it, or ask one to hold it on you.

EDIT: Or, and here's a really novel idea, don't carry a bunch of crap around.

No, I really haven't. You're upset because the Talons have a NPC that's flagged as a heavy armor faith, and therefore continue to have access to the spell, whereas other trib priest NPCs are not heavy armor faiths, and so don't. On the other hand, MC has orderable NPCs that will cast interdiction. And BH has NPCs that will make rift networks on demand. Guardians and Keepers have holy word capable NPCs.

*My* point is that all the tribs have slightly different things available to them, and I'm not a fan of cutting down oak trees to the size of maples just so that everyone gets a fair share of the light. That doesn't make for an interesting forest. Non-talons still have access to the spell, if by other means.

I think the point they are using against yours is that the Talons don't get much else, or that what other tribunals get balances out just fine? For instance, the Talons do not get rift. (I am not saying they do or they do not get better or worse things, just clearing things up.)

Yeah, it doesn't really come down to "better." It just comes down to different, and variety is good.

I think OA's got this one in the bag.

Actually, the whole "lighten load only applies to heavy armor faiths" change is what changed lighten load for tribunals: All tribunals used to get lighten load, yet as a result of this change, it was limited to only the Talon just because of the NPC levels and status of religions. It seems to me that this change was unintended.

As for variety, there are alot of rules already for variety amongs tribs. Any tribunal that has rift doesn't have access to gate: The Talons have gate, for example. As well, the Talon have gotten a lot of buffs in recent history. They've got the strongest sentry guards, they have the highest level swash trib NPC in the game, and they also have a couple barbarians who spawn with high-level spirit aura.

Lighten load is a sick nasty spell. IMO, it's unfair to have one trib that is also not an underpowered trib to be the only trib with access to it.

Let's not even mention resurrection which some tribs have access to and others don't.
