Ive been getting the itch to roll a character. I always enjoyed the idea of the hellion class and it is probably my favorite. I am curious to know how they stack up these days?

Hellions are mechanically mediocre. And that's in the hand of a player who puts in a lot of effort. RP-wise, they are fun, though.

You'd be better off rolling a merc/barb or a shaman if you really want to do the hybrid thing.

There is no reason to ever roll a hellion aside from, "I want to play a hellion cuz it seems cool in theory." They have absolutely nothing to offer that another class can't do better, except intimidate, and that's only if you want to sit 3rd row and do nothing. They also have absolutely nothing to make up for their glaring weaknesses like being able to get stuck by BoG or the ridiculous concentration req on domination.

Or you could learn how to play a hellion and own SK.

I like my character, but the class is really not going to accomplish much with your average player. Just sayin.

Hellions are an awesome class. Way better then the basic warriors and give you much more tactical options than bash xxx.

You forgot the maledictions and the hellfire, that you use liberally.

Hellions (and paladins) shouldn't be touched by people who can't or won't roleplay.

I think my success rate with call lightning is a lot higher. :P Shamans get more maledictions, and heal. And voodoo. And brew.

Paladins/Hellions get 3rd attack. Which should never see use during PvP. It's essentially a PvE skill for them.

Before massives, 3rd attack was pretty useful.
