There's been a certain sorcerer that has made themselves unkillable, or near unable to be killed by utilizing a combination of etherealform and mirror images. That isn't the point. The person never leaves etherealform and all they do is run around dispelling people. There is no counter for melee because they can't get the etherwire to kill said individual. He's stacked MR so you can't dispel him out of etherealform or he just runs away when you start to concentrate.

On top of that, there are instances to where I've seen said person dispel elementals and the elemental attempts to attack them. There are no laws violated and apparently, they can dispel them without breaking the law or incurring any consequences thus harassing some warlocks that try to keep their elemental out. The only way to beat this is to go ethereal yourself and kill them, the problem of course being that they run whenever you concentrate. A caster simply can't keep them down.

No build should be immortal nor have such a capacity to troll or harass individuals. There is no element to risk with this current setup and they can literally dispel people and have their cronies come in and clean up while the party is unbuffed / fatigued.

Dispel / Cancellation should only be able to affect people that are ethereal as well. You already have protection from spells and abilities cast / performed at you while ethereal, you shouldn't be able to harm people in any way either. Warlocks specifically rely on their elemental. It's bollocks when a sorcerer comes around ethereal and dispels it repeatedly and the only thing you can do is literally run away because none of your spells can touch them.

This should seriously be looked into. If a person goes ethereal, they should only be able to affect or be affected by ethereal. That's all there is to it. They shouldn't have the ultimate defense while being able to debilitate their enemies as well.

Yes, there are counters to it. Very, very SPECIFIC counters to it. One must have truesight to bypass the images. One has to have magma to bypass the MR. The only way to get true sight is from 1 quested instance in the game and only one time, which means you get one shot to kill the person. This should be looked into.

A giant warlock could put him down pretty easily.

I already made a post about this, but maybe Dulrik will listen to you.

I concur with this thread. You shouldn't be able to affect anything normal in ethereal form.

That build is not immortal.

While it is probably annoying to have to deal with a troll like that, you should thank your lucky stars he's chosen to be impotent. An enemy sorcerer is not usually something you can take lightly.

That being said, I wouldn't be opposed to making it so you could not dispel people while you are ethereal, as long as you could still cast dispel on people who were ethereal when you are not.

Baldric is definitely right about the impotency thing; He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is basically doing the equivalent of a merc speccing in canes. Unfortunately, he's also been known to take advantage of his immortality to grief other players quite frequently. I've certainly had people complain to me privately of in-game harassment by this one player--and it was certainly harassment, not for any PK or RP purpose.

Being an undispellable ethereal sorc 24/7 is actually a lot more annoying than you give it credit.

Will it kill anyone? Nah, not directly. But it will wreck a whole lot of people's days.

It's really asinine to post to a topic when you have nothing productive to say.

But I suppose you knew that.

You are asinine - I agree with that.
