So why is it when I'm hidden, I look at some guy who is sleeping. And even though he is detecting, it steps me out of the shadows? Also when I send tells, but not when I respond on cb or tb channels. Can we make it so stuff like look, tells and the like do not drop hide?

I agree. It would make sense for hide to work almost the same as invis. If you aren't aggressive or intrusive, you should stay hidden.

Dulrik hates rogues, this is why hide sucks.

I would just love there to be a separate visible command for hide invis disguise and camo. I enjoy disguise sneaking in and then I wipe my disguise off as I become visible ...

Improving hide buffs hellions and halflings. I personally feel that hide shouldn't drop on using the look command. Personally I would see parity between gtell, tell, tb, and cb for hide. If one drops you out of hide, they all should. Tells and gtells do have a mana cost, where faction channels do not. If the cost is to reflect the concentration required, then I can understand it bringing you out of hiding. If the cost itself is a big enough of a drawback to using tell, then perhaps faction channels should cause you to drop out of hiding instead of tell/gtell. I don't intend to open the can of worms for faction channels having no cost. I know I kind of seem on the fence about this, but in summary I think that A) all communique and look should not make you drop out of hiding or B) they all should drop you out of hiding and rogues should get a superior "stealth" skill with various facets to accentuate their flavor.

I'm up for granting two new passive skills to rogues. Stealth to offer a chance certain actions won't drop you out of hide, and nimble giving you other passive buffs against bashing and tripping, maybe even letting you steal thing in combat. Like word of recall vials.

It is my experience that cabal and tribunal chatter cause hide to break, so tells are consistent with that. Whether it should be changed or not I really have no opinion on.

Unless it's been changed, last I checked you only lost hide while looking at people that were higher level than you, so once you hit GM it shouldn't happen anymore.

Maybe I'm misremembering, though. Either way it only affects look. I also found it annoying that mental communication caused hide to break though.

Giving orders to a pet also breaks it.

Looking at someone with detections takes you out of hide. I actually find that incredibly useful and make a point of looking at people just to know who can see me and who can't.
