Would it be possible to code a who list that would actually return character name on the mud. I suspect the main reasons for this is a list of significant size and spamming it would slow or crash the mud. However it would be quite useful for people like me who suck at remember peoples names. Even if the list was only available on the website updated with a reset or some such. Would also be interesting to see how many there are out there. Or are we worried about hacking attempts as ones name is the first half of logging on? |

Perhaps you should take another crack at what it is you are wanting. When I type who, all visible characters to mine are shown already. As for placing a who list on the site, I say just take the fifteen to forty-five seconds to go through opening a client and logging in to see who is on, depending on your connection, computer and how fast you click and type. |

I think what is being asked for is a list of all characters currently in existence, whether or not they are online at any given point. I can't say I support the idea. |

Yes Meissa that is what I am asking about. Would be nice to actually be able to talk about people with full names with out a notebook keeping track of them. It would also enable people to write notes to faction leaders who have titles if they are in different play times. Was just something I thought of and figured it was worth asking about for ease of play, it didnt seem that hard an issue to make happen although I could be completely wrong with how the whole list searches for its information. |

This really doesn't need to happen, and if you have people you suspect you will have or want to refer to by whole name and title at some point in the future I think the responsibility of note-taking should (and currently does) fall squarely on your shoulders. So I suppose the answer to my initial question is: "Lazy." |

I think it is an interesting idea personally, especially it being a feature of the website. Perhaps updated at reboot, and with special sections for the visible tagged characters (Paragon and Tribunal) and characters removed for inactivity. I wouldn't make it a priority feature, but it could be an interesting one! |

Not being able to remember names is good rp and if you want to rp someone who never forgets stuff, yet you as a person irl is forgetful, then you need to take notes as pointed out! |

When I took Gen psych in uni the prof said that the average human can only remember about 120 people at any given time. With that being said, I don't see any problem with a list of living characters published somewhere out of game, like on the website, but not in the actual game as that would unnecessarily clutter the who list. |
