I thought about this when I played a bard a long ago, and I have wonder what everyone thinks. Couldn't there be religion songs for bards in the similar way there is religion spells for priest. Either an enhanced me based on the religion to an existing song or another song with a unique affect for each religion.

Another note about scouts, I know rapid shot gives you the chance at a 4th projectile but should it also give you a speed boost similar to specialize. By similar, I was thinking the along the lines of 4 chance with a increase to speed, but not enough to give them a 5 attack like specialize.

I hear a lot of stuff about swashies lately. why not give Swashbucklers 3rd attack like all other adventurers, make it a master or mentor skill. If dual wield mechanics work the way I remember, it would be difficult to to get the 5th and 6th swings.

The swashbuckler idea feels radical, but I would like to hear what people think of these three ideas.

Why do we need religious songs? Bards aren't even a religious class.

Scouts and mercs already get the same number of attacks with ranged combat. You're suggesting the game do something it already does.

Addressing the scout/merc issue. No, they are not the same. Merc's receive the chance for 4 attacks with all weapons, plus another with specialization, given the weapon is fast enough.

If the rapid shot help file is correct still, Scouts receive a chance of 3 attacks with all weapons and plus one more in ranged combat only if they received the all 3 attacks that round.

What I suggested was a speed boost added to the rapid shot skill to increase the chances of getting rapid shot with slower ranged weapons. Which this isn't already in the game.

Secondly, The bard suggest was an idea. Of course bards are not a religious tied class. Most church groups in RL have some form of musical worship. The small boost to a song depending on if you join a religion is much simpler than creating a song for each religion.

Sure it is. It's called c 'enchant weapon' bow spd.

Though I wouldn't see any need for creating new songs pertaining to religion I could see there being some
small increase in the effect of a song.
For example a bard who follows Sargas, his Songs of War might be slightly better than a bard who did not belong to that Church. Bards in Meissa, their songs of healing might be slightly more effective. Songs of Magic for Mira etc etc.
I think this would be nice, but the undertaking could be cumbersome.

I'd rather see a bow specialization skill on scouts more than an increased speed. The speed is alright with rapid shot but they could certainly use more accuracy. I don't see why the scout should be sub-par in using bows compared to a mercenary. Albeit the scout has ambush but that is limited to terrain, and is not a constant.

Because the scout has tame, which gives them access to pets, like the golden lion, that are capable of beating the tar out of GM mercenaries and barbarians (that don't wear a shield). Scout is a pet class, mercenary is not.

It's also worth pointing out that a mercenary must make sacrifices to outshine the scout, such as with armor selection. It isn't a flat, objective superiority. It's a relative superiority based on tactical decisions and, often in the case of the scout, less than complete realization of potential.

In any scout versus merc contest that winds up being a veteran vs newbie contest, the veteran is going to win because of knowledge of somewhat undocumented game mechanics. Whether that is a good thing or not remains the judgment of the reader.

Both classes are very capable of hitting the ranged combat limit of 5 attacks a round. And it pretty much balances out due to mercenaries getting a penalty to accuracy for wearing heavy armor.

I assume you are talking about haste or being a sprite. Because that is the only why I know that a scout can get 5 attacks in range. And I didn't know there was such a thing as a ranged attack limit. Good to know.

On another note, I was wondering if there is a spell or herb that "slows your pulse to normal"? And what classes would it affect if there were such a spell?

Once again, c 'enchant weapon' bow spd will get you extra attacks as a scout.

And no, there's nothing that will slow your pulse early.
