Locating for daggers is a nightmare because of plain steel daggers. Is there a way we can remove that from the locate spell? Not sure how it works. It's seriously like locating and finding lot's of wizard's garb or light chainmail.

Cant tell if you are trolling.

I wouldn't locate just 'dagger'. Be a bit more descriptive if you are looking for a specific dagger ie 'c locate mithril dagger'

When I locate for people, I don't locate for specific daggers, really. I want to see what daggers are available. Trying to find a nice-but-not-too-nice one is really hard for lowbies and would be made easier. I don't have a mental list of every weapon in the game like you guys do. I mean, obviously this complaint isn't the end of the world, but it would just be nice.

As far as I know, there is not a way to filter out the plain steel daggers when you cast locate for just dagger because the location spell is targeting that word. That word is a target word for the plain steel daggers and there is not a way to remove it without also removing the ability to target the dagger as a dagger for everything else (like picking it up and wielding it, etc). So as was suggested, you would have to use something a bit more specific in your casting. Perhaps if you are looking for a particular material of dagger? Or just try random things that might be in the description of a dagger that would be in its keyword. It might also be helpful that if you are going to assist younger people to start making a list of things that are useful for them as you find them so you can use it for the next one. I know I cannot keep a mental list of everything either, so I keep lists either on my computer or a notebook.

I hope that helps.

Locate object can accept multiple arguments you know.

Try c 'locate object' straight dagger, gotta play around with the spell a bit to get the right results.

Were you suggesting keywords to search? or were you trying to suggest some sort of unix-like command where it ignores some of the options?
"c 'locate object' dagger -i 'steel' "
