I saw a comment from Jreid somewhere talking about 'each league is about 3 miles. its interesting when you learn you're running at 200+ MPH' Which leads me to wonder, how many square miles is Pyrathia? Also, if we were to include other areas, outer plains and such, How much more would that add? |

I've measured this on a previous character. I've posted something on a board somewhere for an explorer to find almost a year ago. But here's the short version. Historically, a league is an hour's walk. Pyrathia's material plane is quite roughly half of a circle with a radius of approximately 150 leagues. The diameter of a theoretically whole pyrathia is thus 1413 miles. The moon has a diameter of around 2100 miles. If we go only by the concept of leagues, Pyrathia's accessible material plane is a flat half-pancake taken from a source approximately two-thirds the size of our moon. The overworld of this accessible material plane is approximately 35,000 rooms. This fits the description of the MUD on some websites, which is a nice confirmation of theory. Of course, space and time are fluid and relative in the game. It's dangerous to over-apply any one source of information. |

Very well done grep. That's exactly what I was looking for. But is this using the "how far you can walk in an ooc minute?/ic hour?" Or 3 leagues per room? |

1 league per wilderness room, 3 leagues per degree of Pyrathia's surface... don't get me started on the problems and implications of the celestial bodies in the game. For example, sources in-game conflict on whether the constellations even move in the sky. |
