I don't really object to this spell being spread across the clergy classes. When you pray for a symbol, do you do it ICly, or OOCly? I don't respond to poorly written or OOC prayers for a symbol. The holy symbol is a demonstration of RP and not required to be a member of a faith.

Judging from the posts seen above, it might be worthwhile for the staff to tell players what their expectations of quality writing actually are.

For example, leaving a plot point unresolved for a month could be seen as bad writing.

Good point. Maybe you should step off my nuts now. Other things are more important than this game.

Didn't intend it to be personal. I think we both advocate the same perspective; I just don't see how playing pinata with a holy symbol demonstrates that perspective successfully.

SK Character: Alshain
Good Example:
"Lord Alshain, I come before you as your servant and humbly request that you bestow upon me a symbol of your church that I may be a shining beacon of your light."

Poor Example:
"I need a symbol please"

I have never denied anyone a symbol request, though I am more likely to make you work for it RP wise if you have not even put the effort into your prayer request. Also, do not send up a prayer request for a symbol and log out 60 seconds later. If we are not in the editor, not busy already dealing with someone else, it does take a few minutes to get a symbol for you. We do not have them stashed in our pockets.

I hope that clears it up as to what is expected. If you need further clarification, ask grep (just kidding).

A style guide would be kind of interesting, in all honesty. It could include things like tips for newbies on how to couch OOC terms and mechanics (like levels, enchantments, and so on.) It could establish some lore tie-ins.

It'd be a nice, benign thing to work on in anticipation of what I can only assume will be the most thought-provoking feature in SK since CRS: tradeskills and crafting.
