Post subject:  Assist command?

Hey, I was just curious (and I didn't see anything about it in the help files) if there was/could be an 'assist' command?

It'd be like the kill command, but instead it focuses you on whatever your target is currently focused on.

syntax:
assist <target>

Helpfile description:
Assisting someone allows you to join their side of the battle without being a part of their formation, as such you and your group will enter into combat on the behalf of the person you assist, causing you to target their target automatically.

I figure this might cut down on some of the accidental targetting that's done due to similar names and such.

Just an idea and I don't think it'd be too hard to implement, but would add to the game I'd think?

THANKS

Auto assist is defaulted to ON and will have you target whatever target your group initiates combat with, but will not automatically switch targets if they do. It also does not function with spells, those have to be directly targeted at all times and that's probably how it should be.

It's worth noting that you can't set yourself to assist someone outside your group.

You can, but not with in game commands. You could use your client to create a variable string list for all the mobiles/characters in a room, with an alias to kill @assisttarget for the mobile engaged with the character you assign as @assistcharacter.

In theory, one could argue that the rescue skill is an active way to assist someone outside your group.
