Should players returning from inactivity get bonus tokens?
Yes, but the period of inactivity should span 6 months to 1 year+. 35%  35%  [ 6 ]

Note: I fully recognize and admit that this idea is born out of a selfish desire, but I still think it is a good one that follows plenty of reward models that work for other games.

The idea is simple, give a moderate sum of bonus tokens to returning players who have been inactive for a set amount of time as an extra incentive to get them to come back to SK and try the game again. The only reason I can see against it is that some people may be tempted to try and game the system for extra tokens, but I highly doubt that will become a major problem, as it would seem that actively playing would give more opportunity to gain said tokens while also not having to restrict oneself from playing.

I would be interested in seeing some numbers on the amount of loyalty tokens distributed and by what means they were acquired before coming down with a solid vote on this, particularly with interest in comparing group averages for leadership and roleplaying rewards.

We have something like 58 leadership positions pumping out up to, what, 290 loyalty tokens a month? With tokens being irredeemable on characters that earn them, the system doesn't seem to encourage sustained high-quality presence. It instead promotes rolling snowflakes while not logging into leader characters, naturally contributing to absentee leaders. This impact would not be meaningful if we were to see more than 300 reward tokens monthly pumped out over the course of the last year.

In either case, I don't think it would be a terrible idea to give away 80 tokens to everyone this fall break: the last bonanzas haven't had any events announced for them, so it would bridge a certain gap in buzz factor.

I'd like to see tokens earned be usable on the character who earned them. It may cause people to use the for resurrection more often.

I am not a fan of loyalty tokens at all. They reward the wrong behavior.

There's already enough incentive to take leadership positions, like access to blemish/etc, factoring into 'hero', (and no requirements you -do- anything as leader besides log on occasionally) without adding this massive REQUIREMENT that people squat on flags to be able to play what they want.

Loyalty tokens add very little and overall seem unhealthy.
