First, why is there still no help file or in game way to tell what is 'massive'? Help massive just takes you to help weapons and has a small note about what massive weapons do. Nothing saying 'this and this' are massive.

Second, I'm curious to hear people's thoughts on weapon subtypes since we've had massive weapons for a while now.

I personally think we're due for a tweak to subtypes, as all we see in use are the 'tanking' one-handers, and the massive weapons as they're too good to pass up. Weapons like pike/battle-spear/non-massive two-handers are just not on par. Even weapons like pitchfork/hunting spear/sickle that used to at least have value in PvE are now largely ineffective since every single NPC in the game now parries attacks.

I wouldn't mind seeing a more detailed list of help files for weapons.

What do you think needs to be tweaked with subtypes, specifically?

Yes, even her.

But no, I mean in high-end PvE, it really does seem like everything parries. And furies. And kips up.

The obvious answer is 'massive' weapons need wimped. Likely in the number of attacks department. You can get five hits with a halberd, which is the most damaging weapon and nearly impossible to avoid, or..six hits with a battle-spear which is a mediocre weapon and not hard to parry, block, dodge.

But that's no fun. I'm not sure what the best answer is.

Honestly I had thought the massive weapon roll out was a prelude to further sub-typing of the weapon system.

Like changing mace type weaponry to have chances for 'mini-stuns' or "bypassing" heavy armor (or decreasing its effectiveness-especially since bludgeoning weapon types get almost no love in most games).

Having a "light" weapon category that had better accuracy (or a general bonus to, that or speed maybe?), though I assumed that would come in part with tweaking accuracy in SK since you can already get obscene accuracy bonuses via a number of buff spells.

I even wondered if there was going to he heavy weapons, a separate but similar category to massives. I had originally thought massives were going to be ONLY two-handed weapons, and that 'heavy' weapons were going to be the the big type but only one handers, like your bastard sword and 1-handed battle-axe (2 handers would be massive I guess?).

This all was based off of a thought that there was going to be speed-tweaking, with caps on number of attacks for certain weapon types. Massives limited to 3, maybe 4. With heavies being in the 4-5 range, and light weapons being the only weapons capable of getting that solid 5+.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

There is a lot of information posted in the code updates that has never been incorporated into their appropriate help files.
