Are there advantages or disadvantages to size and size differences I am missing? |

Size has been muddied waters since the old days. It might be more appropriate to think of "natual size" in terms of the size of the race of the character; I believe there are differences consummate with the kind of things you'd see in D&D or ROM, but I also think it's absolutely true that more developments have occurred. My best advice would be to read the help files then search the announcements and gameplay forums for anything from Dulrik with the word "size" in it. |

In terms of equipment, you pretty much always want to right-size for whatever size you happen to be. |

My experience has been that small races have higher natural AC than large races, which carries over to polymorph but not to casted shrink/enlarge spells. Careful not to confuse AC with dodge/parry skills. |

I was wondering. The benefit of some smaller races is a high dexterity. With certain bonuses larger races can match or exceed those levels of dexterity negating the bonus of having high natural dexterity. I just wondered if the offset of damage is balanced out by damage avoidance like in certain systems, smaller races being harder to hit while getting smaller damage dice. I suppose the only way to learn fully will be to play with it a while. |

I suppose the only way to learn fully will be to play with it a while. if ur trying to be a melee dps with a sprite, gnome, or halfling u r doing it wrong. the only viable builds for those races is tank, but even that is questionable. people should stick to what works and avoid snowflake and token builds. if u want to play melee on sk u r safe going human and maybe giant (if u know what ur doing). in fact, consider this ur christmas cuz i am going to post a list of viable class/race combos for all the perman00bs out there (not including anything that requires a specific cabal build): merc - human or giant. spec in bow, massive polearm, or an accurate one-handed wepaon for when u tank w/ shield (pick two of the three and join factions accordingly) swashbuckler - don't even waste ur time. u will fail more than a throwing axe spec'd merc. barbarian - giant, human both work if u go MR build. if ur not going MR - make a merc, they r better priest - halfling, sprite, deep-elf, gnome, elf (u need a race with high int basically - then build around negating any of ur racial weakness if u have any) paladin - human and elf don't be that guy that goes half-elf or snowflakes giant, centaur or dwarf. just don't do it. hellion - human, deep-elf, half-elf - giant snowflake actually works for this class, but u will still be avg shaman - human, gnome, halfling, sprite are all decent bard - halfling, elf and sprite rogue - lulz plz do not make a rogue cuz u will be terrible. u will not be orsiphantes and u will fail. if you insist on making one anyway human and half-elf both work and so do snowflake minotaur and giant. scout - human, giant but ur better off as a merc unless u don't plan to join a tribunal sorcerer - deep-elf and human. certain factions sprite and gnome can also work. warlock - why r u punishing urself? play a sorc, kid necro - see above |

Thanks. Now you need to roll something on my side and teach me how to tank. |
