Is it possible to remove this? It's been there since I started playing in 2000, but it makes me set up aliases within my own client instead of using the built-in aliases in SK.

Directly after the first command is sent and before the second is sent, there is always an exra un-wanted 'enter' sent to the client. It is only sent after the first command and before the second, but never again regardless of how many commands are stacked past the second.

EXAMPLE
My alias is as follows:

Test peer;peer

Quote:
test
You peer around yourself intently.

[HP: 95%] [ME:100%] [PE: 97%]
> ******right here, this is an extra 'enter' that is always sent after the first command, before the second******
[HP: 95%] [ME:100%] [PE: 97%]
> You peer around yourself intently.

[HP: 95%] [ME:100%] [PE: 97%]

I've got this on all my multiple aliases. Guess I just learned to live with it.

It's not just a carriage return. It's some kind of function being run, possibly the loop parsing an alias. There's a one-pulse tax for using the in-game alias command, and as I've mentioned before, it's why "quaff recall;get recall cloak" is infinitely better than "get recall cloak;quaff recall."

It's one of SK's deep and strange quirks, like a lot of the refresh bugs in vt extend mode.

Good information Grep, thanks!

So is there any chance it will get fixed?

I personally don't see this as an issue that would take top priority in a long list of fixes/features Dulrik likely has planned.

However, is it really that bad to set up aliases on your client rather than on the character? I like my "gam" [get all.coin <container>] and "pam" [put all.coin <container>] as my basic per-character, per-equipment, server-side aliases, and any purely temporary/situational ones of course.
