Do saves help against certain cabal powers? More specifically, I am wondering about the Fist power to destroy armor with a finger, whatever that's called. Do any saves mitigate the success of this? Or maybe AP?

Also, the power to through someone from the room, anything help against that?

I'm not sure if this is valid to speak about, but in general, skills do not have saves except for the recent exception where bash and trip were changed to be able to "reflex-saved." It's my understanding that aside from those two skills, all other skills will rely on stats, relative skills where applicable, and size, and not saves.

As for other cabal spell-based maledictions, yes, those do have saves.

The exact text in the code update is, "Reflex save to avoid going prone on attack skills." I believe it does exactly that, nothing more and nothing less. There are attack skills besides bash and trip that carry a proning component, and in all cases this proning component can be avoided with a successful reflex save. Damage and other effects of the skills are not mitigated by reflex. Gore comes to mind as an example of an attack skill that can knock the victim prone.

As to the original question, it's up to Dulrik to decide whether he wants to discuss that here.

don't think it's giving away any seKrets to acknowledge that most cabal abilities have a saving throw, which is why u will often see two different output message - one for a failed saved (usually with the $4 or $0$I color code) and another for a successful save (usually with the $6$I color code). as to whether a particular ability is contested by reflex, fortitude, willpower or something else - u can ask around in game and get the opinion of other characters. ur mileage may vary on that. ur best bet is to rely on experience guided by common sense.
