I have heard this horrible rumor that a barbarian was allowed to enter the fist? |

Since I was specifically asked for a response, here is what I can tell you: - The barbarian in question went through a process of RP to get consideration for the Fist; - The barbarian also went through a process to get the Fist patron's approval; - The barbarian in question undertook extra tasks beyond those assigned by the cabal leader to get acceptance into the Fist; - The barbarian in question has given up access to berserk (which means it also cannot use fury) as part of the RP requirement to play a more level-headed sort of character. Wild fighting and Fist unarmed skills do not work in conjunction. With the loss of berserk and fury, you could make the argument that a barbarian in the Fist is worse than a mercenary in the Fist. As Rules Manager, there's really not anything for me to speak on here, as no rules were violated by anyone. More generally, I think with the concession of losing berserk and fury, there isn't any threat to game balance. |

A point that Thuban seems to have forgotten to explain is that the character did not originally realize they would be losing berserk. That occurred after the initial joining and training. It was explained via flavor text that practicing the ways of the swan eventually quenched their rage. |

D, Not that it bothers me, but what made you change your mind for this snowflake? As far as I can remember (which is pushing 15 years off and on) you have vehemently denied any thought of a barbarian in the fists. Just wondering what made you soften? To call this character a success would it be fair to expect this to be the greatest RP'd fist ever? |

This has been a rule for fifteen years, it's kind of upsetting to see someone snowflake the rules. Why were they able to break a steadfast rule and nobody else has ever been allowed? |

This has been a rule for fifteen years, it's kind of upsetting to see someone snowflake the rules. Why were they able to break a steadfast rule and nobody else has ever been allowed? I may not be as experienced as some of you here, but I have been playing this game off and on for 17 years and I can confidently say there is little in SK that hasn't been touched, adjusted or changed over that time. Can any of you confidently say that a decision you made 15 years ago never came up in your mind to question it now? Especially with the smaller player base that we currently have compared to the much larger numbers of years ago... I don't see the change of this rule as being so bad, especially if it was well role-played, additional difficulties given for the rarity of the occurrence and adjustments made on the character's ability to offset the advantage they would receive for such an action. Just laying out my opinion, I support the decision that was made here given the way it was handled from what I read here. |

See...start calling griffons natural when everyone knows they're cauldron born...next thing you know, barbs in the fist. Keep Nature pure folks and you won't have things like this happening. |
