Would it be game breaking if necromancers where to get raise dead (breath of life to avoid confusion) and/or resurrection.

Considering how rarely necromancers are played it would be nice for darkies to have an extra way back to life. It would also give a way for necromancers to make friends after a betrayal.

They can already reanimate PC corpses.

I dont think it is a stretch for a necromancer to get a breath of life equivalent, resurrection is a bit of a push, perhaps spirit disorientation lasts longer from a necromancer. It doesnt really directly help the necromancer but it does help dark auras which historically priests are less frequent than light aura or grey aura.
It does open up some potentially problematic RP where a light aura asks for help from a necromancer but that can already happen with cross aura priests.

I really think the magic style of necromancers has no bearing on the ability to actually give real life back to someone. They animate dead things into zombies but have never had any kind of ability to put the soul back inside a body like a priest does. I am firmly against this idea. What you really need are more dark priests who play with greater frequency. Who knows, maybe I'll roll a darkie priestess some day.

Jokes aside, I agree with ssenpsl here. I think it would be very thematically unfitting to allow necros any form of life-giving. It sucks to be a darkie at the moment, but I don't think that giving necros access to raise spells is a good solution for any problem.

Summoning a ghost and binding it into a body is not far fetched in my mind. If you look D&D spell casters get a way to restore life at top end of their spells from magic jar that moves around the soul to wish which can just take the place of resurrection.
Also there was until the recent RP event a raise dead scroll in the game so necromancers could do it via that.
How does breath of life thematically fit a warlock better than a necromancer. Other than a warlock has more motivation to do it for someone.

Lets face it necromancer is a rare class played by people because they have a large amount of prep time comparatively to other equal/arguably more powerful classes. This would "buff" a necromancer play set with out directly buffing a necromancer. Making them more attractive to play.

Being able to read a scroll of raise dead is fine and a good way that a necromancer can achieve this but that's as far as I would go. If we wanted to open the doors for additional ways to bring people back, maybe priests should be able to learn how to scribe so that they can scribe scrolls of raise dead which necromancers and others could use. Not saying that I agree with that idea exactly as the clergy's power comes from the active praying to their deity but I suppose the same concept of brewing could be put to place in scroll writing as well. But as for a necromancer getting a direct way to return life in that manner, it just doesn't make sense. I'd see a sorcerer getting that power long before a necromancer and even then I disagree with it. The ONLY way I could see necromancers even possibly getting raise dead is if the dead person were under the necro's direct control for some long period of time (like an animate dead/charm person) until their spirit finally settled and they were once more able to control their own corpse. Not saying that I am pushing for that, but it is the only scenario where I could see it logically possible for a necromancer.

Breath of life for a warlock probably fits due to their control over the elements but I'll agree that one is a bit far-fetched as well.

Everything about the theme and practice of necromancy is the antithesis of true life. From a thematic perspective, I don't see how you can argue for this.
