Is there a discord server? If not should one be created?

I can think of a lot of benefits of having one if there is interest in it. I personally would like to get to know the other players and staff better.

I think an official Discord would be a positive thing. Many online communities have them.

That being said, I've never used a public Discord Channel before. Is it primarily for voicechat like a private channel?

It can be used for both voice chat and a persistent place for text based messages.

There is a discord channel that one of the players started. It's pretty quiet most of the time. But an official channel might be something to think about it.

Just so you all know this has been seen, this is actually something that has been kicked around a few times. The preference would be for anything like this to be part of a broader point of access, and we would also need to figure out exactly what we wanted out of it. Is it strictly OOC? Strictly IC? Combo? If IC, how do you deal with the people who don't use voice. There are some of the more minor issues, but at the end of the day we do recognize some ways Discord, or something similar, could be a great tool, but we need to put more thought into it before just throwing one up and calling it "official", even if it's pretty easy to do.
