I signed his guest book. I wish I could have met Brady, I won't say any more then that. I hope I haven't offended anyone with my 'mixed emotions' about what I thought of how I viewed Brady to be.

It's very clear the real Brady kept most of himself out of SK, though it really did appear to me that he poured alot of his heart and soul into the game. Wish I could have met him so I could find out. Hope others sign the guest book too. It's pretty barren, and I can't speak for brady, but that's not OVT's style. FLAME ON!

I went to sign it earlier this today, but didn't know whether I should or what to write. As his Mum asked for us to sign it, I will revisit the guest book.

I have posted...

I chose not to read the last five pages of comments to my brother's memory. Bringing back the pain is really hard to do; I just flew back to Florida from the funeral.

(IRL) Brady David Farrell was an incredible man, full of funny quirks and at the same time a mind buzzing with phenomenal potential. I met brady close to nine years ago in high school and we pretty much immediately clicked. Shared so many memories of jipping school, getting in trouble, smokin the reefer, and just having fun.

When I say that Brady was my brother, I mean it in every sense of the word. We weren't blood-related, but closer than any siblings I know of. Brady was the kind of guy you could call just about anytime to find what was goin on; fun parties, social gatherings, concerts, etc. I really must say that without Brady I would have experienced life in a totally different manner.

Brady and I could share just about anything with each other; he was my best friend and personal accomplice with many fun things we did in high school (along with Missy). For a while, it was Missy Brady and I, the three Musketeers, and then we began incorporating more into our circle. As high school came to a close and I became a recluse, only a handful of people would come out to see me. Kris (witherwood) and Brady with a few stragglers here and there.

Brady reintroduced me to some highschool buddies when we were older, which paved the way for my foundations of a second family (you know who you are). The family has grown large over the years, with Brady always at the middle.

I unfortunately -can- believe what this man did to himself. I knew him for many years and knew he suffered from depression, but I or one of our brothers would always help him get through it. You can't imagine how terrible I feel, as I had just moved to Florida two weeks before it happened.

When I had considered suicide a while back, like really considered it, there was only one thing that stopped me: My families. I only wish he could have thought of us and how it would affect us. I'm a little angry with him, but when I go to see him I'll give him a piece of my mind. Alas, that journey is far away.

[REDACTED] was supposed to be my best man if I ever got married to Julie. Grrrrr

Brady, we love you so much. Rest in peace; I know you're exploring the cosmos though. I'll be seeing ya.

- Dooby/Jason/Kirana Vorlak

Edit: Please PM me with any IC funeral info, I still do have one char who can be there.

I'm sorry for your loss, man, and although it probably doesn't mean much coming from a person you've never met, my prayers are with you.

Turns out, the straw that broke the camels back was a second DUI.. My father spoke to the cops partner that arrested him, he was VERY DRUNK and driving over 100 miles a hour on a main road.. Blew past a accident and bam.. the rest of it is history.

Look on the bright side, he got the longest afterlife thread dedicated to a single player ever.

I knew little of who OVT was and what he was like, yet he and I both began playing Shattered Kingdoms several years ago. I have constantly seen him on the "who list" and the forums and have always have considered him one of the players that I looked up to. He was one of the players that would always be at least a notch or two above me in knowledge of the game and it's dynamics. It hit me hard when I came across this thread and I even had to fight back tears multiple times as I read through what people have written about him. I took a small break from the mud recently and now I wish I hadn't, only in the hopes that perhaps I would have gotten to know him a least a tiny bit. I had much respect for him, a person so full of flare and zest for life, as well as the game. He was one that never seemed to hold back what he truly wanted to say, and on a level, I admired that in him. I feel a great loss has swept over the game and it isn't fair to those who were left behind with such a vast gap in their lives. However, now is not the time for regret, guilt, nor blame. Personally, this will be a time of reflection and rememberence for me. What hit me like a kick to the stomach was when three_sixteen said: ...I would totally log on with my OOC priest alt and res you if I could. If only bringing him back was easy as answering a couple of riddles. So, in conclusion, all I feel I can do is leave you all with this quote that came to mind, as it seems rather fitting.

"I have always believed, and I still believe, that whatever good or bad fortune may come our way we can always give it meaning and transform it into something of value." -Hermann Hesse (1877-1962)

I do not intend to minimize any feelings or sense of loss, and perhaps that was just the taoist in me. In the grand scheme of things, I imagine my feelings and words are probably rather insignificant to anyone. Regarldess of which, I do send my deepest condolences to all that knew him well, in the flesh and over the internet, though. He will be sorely missed by us all. It is a horrible tragedy to lose a veteran amongst such a tightly knit community. I do hope someone among the IMM staff erects something permenant for him within the game.

Not quite correct, as it turns out.
