Some of what you said rings true. I did tend to think things out too much. It's my nature as a writer; I'm not an improv artist. But I tried. To my credit, as a hellion she was on a high horse, so to speak, and so conveyed arrogance and uncaring in a dismissive manner. She called meetings, tried to act the official figure, the administrator, tried to seem in-charge, as her role demanded. But oftentimes when I tried to improve her reputation, I screwed up, or it backfired in some way, and it only made things worse.
There were characters that influenced her greatly, but the character tried to be unyielding, uncompromising, a hard-liner with religious conviction in herself, her duty, and her goals.
But I appreciate the constructive criticism and I'll keep it in mind as I try to do better.
