Post subject:  [HEl Rog] [HAMMER] Gallus Altari, Shadow of Alshain
Before you is a somewhat odd looking fellow. He appears to be neither
elf nor human, more of a mix of the two. He stands roughly 5'10" tall. His
scruffy hair is completely white. His ears, one of the few elfin traits
noticeable, are very long and pointy, and seem to be jutting out from
underneath his hair. His eyes are a pale-blue color and there appear to be
crow's feet forming around them. His face appears weathered from time,
giving him a ruggedly handsome appearance. His body is well toned. His
hands seem toiled, covered in many small scars and abrasions showing signs
of years of training with a blade. On the back of his left hand you notice
there is a tattoo of a Phoenix encircled in a ring of White Flames with the
word Rebirth underneath. Upon his right arm there is an elegantly designed
tattoo of intertwining Blue Lightning and White Flames, extending from his
fingertips to his shoulder blade, around his neck, and close to the wrinkles
of his eyes. The flames themselves almost appear alive as they dance and
weave along his arm. Upon looking closely at his face you notice an old
scar on his left cheek which runs from the tip of his eye down to the middle
of his face. Though at times shady-looking, there is an ever present
glimmer of kindness in this man's eyes.

Well, where to start.... Gallus was my first char on SK(suprise). I got introduced to the game from a few other players where I lived, Lightbringer, Lockheart, Gelear, Elirush, to name a few and got sucked into the world almost instantly. I'd really like to thank everyone who rped and did stuff with him, even if I did act like a noob at times (still am).

[Edit] Background:

The story of Gallus begins like so many others. He was the son of a Teronian adventurer and an elf maiden who shortly died after giving birth to him. Or so he was always told. He was raised by his father on the streets of Teron who's main means of income was working part time for the Thieve's Guild doing odd jobs. He never wanted for his son to become a thief but knew in a place like Teron there wasn't much else he could become. One day while they were traversing the market place Gallus got split up from his father and wound up in a back alley bar. One of the drunk patrons caught sight of the young half-elve's ears and decided to get rid of the mutt. He lunged forward to attack, Gallus barely dodging the attack resulting in the scar on his face. As he watched his attacker regain his balance he feared the worse was to come. Just then a cloaked figure stepped in between the patron and the boy. The patron filled with rage charged the cloaked figure, only to be cut down in a single blow. With tears in his eyes the boy looked up at his savior only to hear the words "Have Courage" and notice a certain medallion around their neck. From that day forth he decided to dedicate himself to finding out what that really meant. Seeing this new fire in his son's eyes Gallus was sent to Taslamar to train.There he meet the man that would change his life forever, the priest Lumos Lightbringer. Through Lumos, Gallus learned of the faith of Alshain. He was inducted by the High Priest Kharev and the Lady Gretchen. On that day he was bestowed the adamantite mortaury backsword which became his sacred blade. After a few years of training under Valtari and the rest of the Faith’s teachings, Gallus grew curious about the Hammer and learned that a majority of his faith were Hammer. Seeing it as a way to express his faith further, he joined the Crusaders of Light (of course you can't have a crusade without a plunderer).

Gallus was that part of me I don't usually get to show. If anything I want to say he was sort of a Robin Hood. He was never driven by coins like other rogues(though they were nice) but instead the prospect of serving his Lord, helping others, and most importantly the chance for adventure.One of the first ever real adventures I can remember is going down into the Necropolis with Palemetis, Shin, Lumos, and Ghent to get the Heartstone. We traveled all the way down to the very bottom to fight some creature and get a key. Only to find out that the little rogue could pick the lock. He saw a lot of history from King Gerevan's death to the Twagras incident. In his later days one of the strangest things he noticed was that the generation of the day had never witnessed an Adept sacrifice or the effects of warp space on a group.

I really was a noob when it came to PK, but there were the occasional shining moments. My fondest memories though were probably with Frollith. Gallus died more times than I could count, but if there was a number 3/4ths would probably go to Peso.

So much RP so little time. One of my favorite, though small, moments was that little Dragon slaying RP I did with Cyril in the inn of Nerina. Good times. Managed to get PAR twice and lead the Hammer for a while( though Gallus never liked leading, more a follower).

The people I'd like to thank:

Palemetis, Shin, Arcus, Decimus, Frollith. You were the picture of Hammer in Gallus' eyes and would forever be his driving influence.

Karn, you were the best friend a guy could have. The Heero Yuy to my Duo Maxwell. Not even death could sever their ties of friendship.
Avice, you were Karn's poler opposite and that's what made the two of you great together.
Sithara, I think you probably knew how Gallus felt from the start.
Valtari, the attack elf.
Inzy for being the only enemy to last longer than Gallus.
Peso, for being Peso.
Shandraelle, Nayzor(GREATEST GRIFFON EVER), Rowena, Valtari, Avaleena, Eldtor, Eouli, Carita, Ghent, Elriorith, and Boug.

All the Hammer, all the Alshainites out there, and everyone else.

I could probably write a book on all the stuff Gallus did but alas... all good things must come to an end.

Oh man. I <3 Gallus. Everytime I passed through the Hammer I always hooked up with him to rp my way in. He was great. He was all Hammer. Seriously I liked everthing about him. I donno if he was around for Roath or Roriand but I've been in the Hammer a half dozen times since then I just can't seem to last...

Regardless this char was great, come back with another.

edit: I've always enjoyed my interactions with Gallus, irregardless of which char it happened to be. I remember having a discussion with him on my giant about tongues as Gallus was trying to teach my alt 'elf speak'. :) Always fun times! Luck with next.

I second all the above sentiments. I loved Gallus. :cry: Always fun, a joy to go adventuring with, or pass idle moments, in any circumstance, a boon to have around.

No!

Elriorith totaly loved Gallus, and their little chats and arguments from time to time. He was her favorite rogue, especially after Valtari was gone :( He was on of the few left of the Old Guard of Alshain's Dawn.

I always remember how Elriorith and Gallus used to joke around, about each other being still alive after all these years :(
Seems that the Cleric will be alive in the end, to give the last rights :(

Take care, Gallus was an excellent character which I loved ICly and OOCly, he made me feel safe and welcomed.

I will prepare a little something for you, In Game RP wise, which I hope will become an Alshainite tradition.

So it did happen today!

Sad to see the old dude go. When I rolled my last guy, I have to say my jaw dropped when I found out you were still alive and kicking. It was definitely nice to see you. I could tell that Gallus had grown since the Gallus I used to know. Well done.
