As of march 4, gary gygax, one of the main creators of D&D and role-playing in general is dead.

Let's hope that the afterlife is good with him, and that the thousands of dead adventurers who met their untimely and horrible end in his insanely difficult dungeons such as tomb of horrors or the necropolis treat him kindly.

I suppose RPG's have reached the point where they have surpassed one generation and are moving to the next.

Heh. I almost didn't realize this wasn't a "real" afterlife post.

Or, perhaps better stated, that it WAS a "real" afterlife post.

Sad, but true. The original creator of the RPG is gone. We all owe him.

All I can say is thanks for giving the world a game that expanded all of our imaginations and has kept us hooked for many, many, good years. :drunk: :drunk:

May he rest in peace, fondly remembered, sadly gone from us.

I've loved D&D since I was twelve years old and Gary was well known to me as the person who invented the game. I actually believed he did it himself.

I feel terrible that he's gone, I've spent countless hours having a great time with that game. I doubt I'd even have bothered playing SK if I hadn't been so steeped in science fantasy because of my interest in D&D.

Heck I doubt SK would even exist w/o him.
