We have a favorite characters list and now I was wondering who everyone remembers as their first or most memorable mentor. The ones who showed you how to play, or explain ICly how the world worked, or whatnot. I'm curious. This not only recognizes the characters that mentored...but in most cases I bet the players of the mentors had no idea! Its always nice to pat people on the back. Mine: Luce - Just overall. Always helped me on a few of my early characters and really brought RP to me when I was still grasping at what it was. Destrivai - Mechanics, Mechanics, and the command FLEE. |

Going to butcher this spelling, so I'll just call her Mai for short and see if anyone knows who I'm talking about. Anyhow, she was my first real interaction. She helped me quite a bit in mentoring and otherwise considering the differences in our classes, despite her being limited in what she could offer me. |

Mitch. The much hated Garanol. I was an ok pker before I ran across mitch, I was able to kill skillz and 316 and some other big name players but mitch opened alot of doors for me. Travelling with him showed me where alot of elite armor and weapons and stuff was, he got me into cabals that would have otherwise shut the door to old conana, and many other things. Getting my hands on decent eq and other things made me what I consider a good pker. I came along way as a player with him and to this day I believe there are only about five players on SK who are better then me at pk. Tragonis, Mitch himself, Finney, and Jardek. The last time I killed cyra was when he was redder so I kind of put him into that catagory. He's a tough kill. I wish I knew what ever happened to him. He got sitebanned and just faded away. He was in the mc for a while with thran but that all fell apart, then just nothing. Wish you were here buddy. Who could forget Irkoya the fist that killed the entire mc almost. Reminds me of Dwallstrom the harly I had that killed almost the entire Hammer at one time with warped space. Back when money was easy to get I would energize myself and warp anything and everything. With dwallstrom I managed to kill Thraks dwarf merc who was in the hammer, I forget the name, and that was real satisfying for me because it was Thrak who turned me down for the Hammer when I first tried out for a faction years before. The best PK memory I have on SK is when me, mitch, and Hitokarabai took on a group of nine experienced, spelled up, pk ready players and beat them. 3 vs 9! And we won. That was back when staves were broken but still the PK blew my mind they were hunting us, they found us, they were ready for us, and we won. It was nuts. That is my best ever pk memory in sixish years of playing. I miss Hitokarabai big time. He was Edij and Miru. I love that guy. Anyways as for mentors that's how it goes with me. For those who are new and don't know me I was a good player and I finished off my SK career with a character named Tshotha-Lantier. I quit Sk after that and then made a 'come back' trying to be a big name again but afte six months of being back on the mud I'm basically worse then I've ever been. I donno where I went wrong but I probably shouldn't have come back. My rep is crap now. I'm so rich I can't even play SK anymore. I can't top what I've already done. I'm just a washed up hasbeen. Edit: I can't forget Platon Moon either. My very first char on SK met him. He was the first PC I ever met and he was very patient with me. He told me things about the game, answered questions for me, took me under his wing and helped me out alot. I don't know who played him but he was a great char. Anyone know what happened to him? |

I actually didn't intentionally put humor in that post but I'm glad it was worth reading. Enjoy. |

First player that helped me was the player of Katrina, some elven priestess of Meissa back in the days of Alelya. She basically got me into SK so she helped quite a bit to understand basic commands and stuff. First real mentor though, when it came to mechanics, was plastic_chochi who played Eindal. ICly a mentor to my first real character and he helped quite a bit with OOC stuff, like what are numbers and stats in SK and stuff in a nice IC way mostly. Basic things back then, but I consider them a huge step compared to the complete noob that I was before. After that I've got myself understanding SK more through several players' advices, but I guess most important impact had Tragonis as Heldorian when I played Dakog. Basically I understood the enchant system with him(and the 23412414 skins he has enchanted, sry Tragonis ). |

Lumos (the priest, not the necro) Inzaarid Xavier Saphia Nyoru Delear! Anyone who was fond of hanging out at the Taslamar inn about 5 or 6 years ago when that was all my character did. There's more, but that's all that comes to mind right now. |

Delear. "We are the servants of the undead." "But it says 'undead servant of the necromancers'!" "It says wrong." Oh, and Achrid. She was awesome when she wasn't pulling OOC strings or sulking. |
