Alas, all good things must come to an end.
Kherghan didn't really have an impressive backstory, but he led a pretty interesting underdog life and had a decent run as a front-liner. I was hoping that playing a Hammerbarb would be all it was cracked up to be, and it was. Unfortunately, my workload over the past three weeks and for the next two months to come dictated a maximum of ten or so hours to play SK, which isn't enough to invest in the kind of character I prefer to play. So tonight I'd made up my mind that I was going to go out in a blaze one way or another. Peso always makes that easy -- and fittingly, Iureana hellfired Kherghan to death. :P

Lots of thanks to those players with whom I enjoyed romping around -- I hope you know who you are, because I doubt I could name everyone and I'd hate to leave out. There was a season of about ten days just prior to Pilnor's deletion that it was a lot of fun -- the rest of the time was spent huddled in hidey-holes trying to survive without breaking RP while being incredibly outnumbered, and trying hard to RP a Hammer character that could actually admit defeat, which brought little but scorn on both sides. Given that Kherghan weathered Ciadel's backward reign, I was hoping I could ride this one out too without completely dropping off the map, but I realized that it just wouldn't be possible with my limited playtimes.

This was a surprisingly tough call since I'd already worked myself into it at the beginning of tonight's session. I've only really had two other successful long-term characters on the mud: Luce and Kirken (similarity in name completely unintentional, but for some reason when I rolled centaur and started typing the same sequence of syllables came out). Both of them were played to age-death, and I enjoyed both. But I knew this would be a very different experience playing a warrior. And it very much was. Not many classes can get hit by a truck, come out of the River, rest, be reunited with one's container, and then get hit by another truck on the way out of "home." Thankfully that helped seal the decision, although I did take the time to say my goodbyes to everybody I could catch on both sides.

So I'm going to be taking a break until at least the new year, when I get a few of these long-term projects off of my chest. I really did have fun, and I ultimately hope you guys can continue to do so as well.

Not. A. Happy. Girl.

Kherghan was a lot of fun and to see him go out the way he did really sucks. To lose him and Aeris the same night really sucks!

Good luck to you and I hope you do come back with a new creation soon!

These two hardly played due to Rl anyways, which is awesome. I wish I had things going for me at the moment. Anywho, I didn't interact with Kherghan much, but I respect you as a player fully. I've enjoyed your previous characters, and im sure Kherghan was awesome too. GL with life, i'll be glad to see you come back.

I have always liked you as a player.

Glad I could help you go out in a blaze.

Hope to see you again someday, even though we have always played on opposite sides.

Hi Nightwing, I have been a fan of your characters, and this one was no exception. Though Kherghan was shorter lived relatively compared to the priest, but understandable. Ever since Pilnor's passing, things were already tough, but it all got tougher. Whenever Kherghan was around, we can always expect something fun to happen. The greatest quality I think of yours is the courtesy that you are willing to extend to the other players under different circumstances, and that is no small feat, because it keeps other players interested and stay to play the game. To me, you lead by example and make me want to learn from you.

What was Kherghan's background story? Where was he from? What did he set out to accomplish? Why did he join the Hammer and not x/y faction?

Unfortunately the whole lighties versus darkies situation is gloomy and no end in sight. From a strictly in-character perspective I miss Pilnor greatly and will miss you too. Thankfully new year isn't that far away, I eagerly look forward to your next.

I am also a fan of yours, nightwing. I didn't get to have too much interaction with this one, but I'm sure he was great. GL with real life and I hope to see you come back at some point not too long from now.

What few interactions we had I enjoyed the rp that came from them. It always made me nervous to sneak around to help you when asked, because I was sure there was an MC member waiting to gank me just for being in the same room as you (or any other lightie for that matter). Your help with being reasonable during the whole "cease fire of the realms" during the Marfik rp was appreciated as well and went a long way to making the rps that happened that weekend possible. I hope to see you come back soon with a new one, and good luck with rl.
