I think if you retire while you still have the flag, or if you're auto-demoted at monthly update while you still have the flag, you'll lose the tokens. I wasn't aware of anybody being named as a successor or any request to have your flag removed. But I'm also not the Hammer patron, so I'll just say sorry you got hit with that.
