Shattered Kingdoms

This is way too much of a time sink for the fun. The player counts are back down which means I have sat in the afterlife for over and hour twidling my thumbs. Tired of it. You have no reason to play the game past GM, you get your gear you pk only when you know you can win wash rinse repeat. There is nothing to work for, we can't change the game, we can't altar the face of it. You have a hell of a time getting an imm to listen half the time. So [REDACTED] it.

You can label me as a problem player now, because this games "grand vision" is being overseen by a petulant child that has no ability to look at something and admit wrong doing. If he had any [REDACTED] sense he would listen to the "problem" players and fix the damn things needed to make this game playable, the number one thing being players, which you can't seem to keep, I wonder why the [REDACTED] not?

I'd really like to see the permabans lifted on some problem players. Meh.

The only thing here worth discussing is how PK has been completely neutered over and over by staff's behavior and code changes.

Bash is useless. This is really bothering me.

Objectively, the issue with PK goes both ways.

Steps have been taken to ensure that someone can get back on their feet quicker than ever before. Redeem resurrect and retrieve. Tribunal outfit. Tribunal resurrect. Things like that makes the death less painful.

But the nerf to bash and trip really was the death of PK in SK.

It’s tough because pk makes people want the play. The conflict makes people want to fight. It’s fun to get your heart pumping. But at the same time, if someone loses, they might quit because of the work it takes to fully re-equip. So how do you really balance that? Changes have been made to try and make it easier to live after pk. But most of the time, you’ll still get looted.

I know nobody wants to accept the kid gloves. But what about making happy hour some sort of “safe pk time” where if you were pk’d the adventurers guild would pick you up. Insta rez and all your gear. Could recycle code from duel kill.
This might promote more frequent pk and would let people improve at pk so that they can get the guts to pk throughout the other hours of the day.
If you win a couple scraps, you’d be more inclined to fight when it matters. But if you’re too scared to PK and get better because you might lose your loot, you’ll never improve.

If TheX could have done more risky PK with less consequence, he might be willing to take on those 2v4 fights. And he might have more fun. And he might not rage quit because he can’t use trib resurrect or redeem resurrect.

Anyway. Yada yada yada two cents.

I don't think there is not enough motivation behind revamping the life cycle of a player to attract more players.

Just have to accept the game as it is and let people come and go and hope more people come than go.

That’s a pretty dismal hope
