The thing about "insanity" is that it's a ridiculously-broad catch-all that covers basically ANY form of thinking that's sufficiently different from the conceptual framework in which the person USING such a word operates.

To use some in-game examples, the "ethics" of a devout follower of Sadr undoubtedly come off as totally psychotic to your average light-aura'd person. The beliefs of a zealous member of the Hammer likewise seem fascist and sociopathic to some other groups. Delusions and hallucinations, depending on their nature, could be interpreted as signs from any number of gods or spirits already in place.

If you're talking about the idea of worshipping the idea of madness itself, though... I'd say that it's all in the approach. If it's seen as a freedom from the shackles of mundane logic, that'd probably fit into Marfik's sphere. If it's seen as an infectious tool by which others might be influenced, Thuban's... or maybe even Sadr's, if your character follows something similar to our modern "disease of the mind" way of thinking about it.

RP-wise, the possibilities are already endless.

I'm not trying to shoot down your idea, just offering my personal opinion.

A god of insanity would just draw drunks. Acting like a drunken idiot and putting colors in your say doesn't make you insane, it makes you a dickhead.

This is quite possibly the reason why there is no longer a god of insanity - it simply serves to collect the scum that sink to the bottom of the barrel.

I sort of agree with V'klya. (- though my dictionary goes a step further and defines insanity as foolish or absurd). While it might be nice to have the actual sphere of insanity, for themost part you can find a God to cover whatever mental illness a character might have. In my own opinion, if I were going to make a character who had a specific mental illness (which seems like it might be some fun) or was just foolsih and absurd, I would stay a Panatheist. Those are just my thoughts.

I like V'klya's reply too. Infact I like it a lot. I think I'll go with that one. Thanks.
