I can understand the reasoning behind the lack of heavy armor shops in Krychire, but that shouldn't quite make them nonexistent. I mean there should be something. Taslamar has the lowbie steel set. (can't remember the name)

Nerina has the glistening set, which for storebought armor imo it seems way too good in the compare ratings. (Tanso better than diamond? o.O [shrug] Maybe it's just me. Then again I don't know much about AC ratings and such of armor anywho.) Teron has the Grahme weapon which is great for lowbies who need a weapon, but Krychire doesn't seem to have much at all.

Krychire is not just a good place for Necros but also for Hellions since it has two of the best trainers there, but it's lack of armor and weapons is just a bit annoying. Taslamar even has cold iron weapons if I'm not mistaken doesn't it? That and with most of the ligthies pulling the "I r Hammer" card, most will attack you without even looking at you. Sorry for those of you that don't do this.

The shops should atleast offer some sort of low grade steel or so in my opinion as it seems a lot of the other cities have something worthwhile to offer while krychire has hardly anything.

Hear, hear! That's why I find it inconsistent that it doesn't have a place where lowbies can buy some basic heavy armor there. I find that it fits the place's theme very well, since as Kin mentioned it's a good place for Hellions too.

The original plan, as I recall, was to construct Kol's Moot and Moraksdal to replace Krychire, essentially.

Then create a new newbie area for the Northern Wastes.

Then have Krychire destroyed in some rp.

As there was such affection for Krychire & no one to build the new newbie area, however, it didn't really pan out that way.

If you guys WANT a completely seperate newbie area someplace else up there, you're simply going to have to come up with some more specific requests as respects its nature. Destroying Krychire for OOC reasons proves nothing.

In an ideal world, I would be absolutely delighted if players were allowed a choice of starting in Town X or Town Y in a given kingdom, honestly, based on the general sort of character they think they might like to play - if you're a Northman, Krychire for the destitute and/or sadistic, Moraksdal for the 'tribal' sorts... if you're from Uxmal, different sections of Teron for gladiators and merchants... and so forth. Each with their own newbie areas, trainers with different skills, mini quests with a different feel, and so on. But that's a lo-o-o-o-ng term project at best.

Krychire is ugly. Enough said. Revamp it.

They also look poor as [REDACTED] and the economy has been in super inflation. Even so, the low prices of things there make the inflated things still cheaper than most everything else in the game. Seriously, I see NPCs that drop platinum coins all the time.

Wow, for a post I started about a reminder of how pathetic a starting Town like Krychire is and the fact it's been left untouched for years only resulted in giving me a lesser opinion of Thuban, whomever the hell they are.

Since my post was vague at best, I'll be more specific this time around.

I'll start with the more glaring problem with its present existence, which really needs no explanation, as others here have done that for me in regards to the the newbie area in this place and how craptastic it is. I don't think it would take long to redo it and make it more newbie friendly and on par with the other newbie schools. But apparently that seems to much for Thuban.

The Vendors were going to be listed as another issue as selection is pretty much slim too almost non-existent with some classes, but I guess the idea of heavy armor classes starting in this city is out of the question for thematic reasons (Or someone just being lazy).

And as far as aesthetics go, the place really needs a lil detailing, as it's pretty bland and far more lifeless than the corpses that roam about it.

Also find it funny that the reason Krychire wasn't uprooted and replaced as stated by Wert was because of player affection towards the city.... when has this ever stopped anything done in SK in the past? Is this something newly added now or did I miss the memo?

This area is currently being addressed. There is a lot of work that needs to be done for anything to happen or even if anything is going to happen. So please be patient.
