This is not only expected from this particular player, but all of you who have the spell in your arsenal. If you have witnessed repeated incidents of no RP while being charmed, please make sure to inform us and we'll be looking into it.

On a sidenote, though there has been some discussion amongst the staff about the spell, a change would require the attention of our implementor. Feedback on this topic is welcome, as long as you give it in a civilized manner.

I was ganked by a triple Petrification scroll with no roleplaying. Please punish these players for using an ability in a PVP scenario.

I was also bashed with no roleplaying, please Hell them as well.

Does spitting on the corpse count or do I have to give a one-liner as well? These are important questions to know or you'll be banning half the mud.

When you make stuff up, it may help not to do it when someone has a log of you talking. There wasn't a friendly request, it was a 'don't do it again, or else' talk. You are good at spin, I'll give you that.

My favorite part was the whole "if you do it again, we'll remove charm person from your spell list."

Yeah, clearly you weren't threatening punishment. You know, I wonder somedays if this game was run by responsible, mature people with a responsible, mature pbase how good it could be.

Sorry, buddy, there was no 'tantrum', there was a 'aight, this is how you run the game? Then I no longer feel a want to play it.'

I can reserve the right to stop playing at any moment in which I feel the game is not worth the time. I will not sit there and be scorned for using my code-given spellset (with ample rp to back it up) because you felt self-righteous and took it upon yourself to police charm-person usage due to some ooc whining. Sorry, but you don't quite seem to grasp the fact that 'charm person' and 'petrification' are both 1-hit I win spells. If you fail the save, you lose, game over. I didn't make it this way, the game is this way, and there is nothing in the game nor the rules that states "you must not use charm person offensively, nor can you order your charmee to kill themselves".

You most certainly do not see folks 'ARPEEING' with someone before they finger of death them, or rping with them for 10 minutes before the full effects of the spell kills them. So now, officially, you are stating that before you kill anyone, before that critical cleave goes through, you must have a flowery-emote session. You, sir, are wrong. There is no way off the mountain of stupid you set yourself up for, but I know you will try to justify staying on it anyways!

RP is more than just pretty emotes, it is also actions. Actions which are governed by situations that the characters get themselves into.

Also consider that when most people are charmed, they refuse to roleplay because they 'got owned' and are too busy crying about it.

I can name several players who refuse to rp when charmed they include ERICOPEY, the player of Xylia, and Syn (who does the whole 'Oh but I'm too stupid to do anything or answer anything, master' [REDACTED] to irritate you into killing her).

Baldric and Golaret can both confirm this situation. Even Turon can.

You really think this is griefing? I knew you were a chump, but seriously? You can lock people in !recall!magic rooms with no exit when charmed, or lock them in a lamp, or put them at the bottom of a !recall!flight pit naked. Or plain ol' sleep them for an hour, or just lock them in a cabal HQ naked (forcing them to suicide on the guardian).

I mean, good god, you charmed someone that was an enemy, in their lands, versus 4 others -- and then you had the audacity to kill them?!

NO WAI!

Honestly, you can't possibly claim you aren't being stupid. Seriously.

Your response certainly indicates that there was indeed no tantrum. I was mistaken. You're welcome to continue demonstrating your elite RP skills anytime, just log in and I'll let you out of Hell. Thanks and have a nice day.

Cute. I am actually more annoyed with your spinning and false representation of the truth than your totally flawed logic.

Don't expect me to smile and act all cheery when you threaten me for no good reason. or that you post on the forums you never did threaten punishment.

Or when you simply mistake 'if this is how it will be, I simply decline to continue playing' for a 'tantrum'.

Just because you play a god on this mud, doesn't mean you are on in real life. You're aware of that, right? People CAN choose just to stop playing instead of letting you get off on a power-trip over them.

As for 'leet arpee' ability -- don't embarrass yourself. You want to act like the level headed administrator? Try not to include snide, false comments into your posts.

Feel free, by the way, to apologize to me for using my character and his spellset properly.

was totally going to be my signature, but it's too long.

You know all of those fun spells and skills you get? Don't use them to junk loot people or you'll get yelled at by four immortals that have a chat.

You got set aside. This happens all the time. Threats of punishment are what we do. Immortals. I'm fine with you gone. I just think you're overreacting. That overreaction is a tantrum. Thanks for playing though.

I do not think the more mature characters cry because they are effected by charm, I think they cry because so long as you can keep the spell up (do not run out of manna, your intelligence drops or have to many spells up) you can essentially keep them charmed till you log off.

It is impossible to RP anything anymore because one player will call his buddies and wtfpwn the person that has offended them. Then when asked why did you do that or something along those lines they either spit on you and or simply walk away and give you tells like Stop bothering me or Ill kill you again. Fun times to be had by all!

4 immortals in a room threatening punishment is not a 'set aside'. That's the equivalent of the police throwing you in jail, questioning you, then releasing you without probable cause. You know I'm right, but you refuse to admit it.

Why is that?

And, Trexor is right. That's why I humanely kill most of the people I charmed within a reasonable time or let them go. You can ask Snuffles, I charmed his char, he RPed with me for 20 min, and I let him go with most of his stuff (minus weapons).

You can't honestly suggest that I am a rueful offenders of the NO ARPEE environment.

So, achernar, going to admit that your pulling me aside was complete bs? If you have the grapefruits to do so, I will heartily admit that I could have put more effort into the run-by-charmings that I did to my enemies.

I also have stated that the game shouldn't be this way, too, so if you notice I am not against the very change that would 'nerf' me. I am being quite reasonable.

Imms are slipping, letting all these sitebanned people run about on the forums.

Tsk tsk.

I have been reasonable the whole time. I knew that pulling you aside would be reactive and so I wanted witnesses. Only you think we were being unreasonable. You stated you were RPing. Your reasoning was mostly valid to us. You were reasonable. We simply asked that your first move after landing charm person be order all remove all. If taking you to a place where you can be safe to chat from PK while we discussed the issue is unreasonable, then next time we'll distract you with numerous tells while you're dodging PKs. I'll happily say that the conclusion of the incident was that it was overall BS, but that our reason for doing so was only to discuss your interpretation of the spell's use. Punishments were threatened, but never imposed because you did give valid reasoning and we do agree with the need for a change. We just CANNOT enact the change. Please understand and interpret our message as saying that charm person is "bugged". I apologize for the lag between our recognizing the issue as players and staff and the appropriate response to that situation.
