Yeah wtf are you on Edoras, I work second shift sorry I can't be on when it's convenient for you to kill me. If you want the numerous hours of logs I have for the month feel free to browse through them. I was hospitalized last week and very ill so yes the past week has been rough on me as far as internet time goes.

Sept 1st
You have played 2866 hour(s) so far.
to current
You have played 2907 hour(s) so far.

41 hours enough for you for the month so far or should I throw away more of my life for your satisfaction? I'll try to stay out of the hospital just for you too.

You're such a baby, hospital....sheesh what a whiner!

Seriously, if I ever get more jail time than 4 RL hours, I will quit the game again instantly. This is extremely stupid and dissappointing, not punishing the character, but the player instead.

There should be no jail time longer than 4 RL hours. Do executions, remove limbs, confiscate anything the hell you want, but punishing the player by not actually allowing him to play and forcing him to stay idle and logged (yet not botting) for more than 4 freaking hours is plain sadistic.

I see these threads every once in awhile and nobody ever mentions that you don't have to be logged on anymore to do jail time.

Guess what? You don't have to be logged on anymore to do jail time!

Of course, getting someone to break you out of jail is also feasible. But if that doesn't work out for you, you can always go ahead and play an alternate character while waiting for your jail sentence to expire.

Aha! Having been away of the game for quite long, I missed that one! FANTASTIC CHANGE! Thanks D.

What D forgot to add is that it's only 1/10 the speed offline, than what it would be online. So if your character gets like 300+ days in jail, well thats a month or two (or more, dont want to do the math) of not playing a character.

That's why I suggested playing an alternate character. Jail is supposed to keep bad people from disrupting normal people's lives, and the length of jail time while offline actually accomplishes that better. But I'd rather have people playing the game than quitting the game and I recognize that staring at your screen is boring, so if you stay online you get out faster. It's a tough balancing act, but I think it's pretty fair right now.

In my honest opinion, there should be a limit to how many days in jail you can get. Like 15-25 or something. then it could still accomplish keeping someone out for a bit, but it wouldnt be so bad that it takes them out for weeks/months.

If you cap jail time then you're just encouraging people to go on crime sprees after they cross the magic threshold where it doesn't matter any more. They've already hit the maximum sentence so they may as well just be as terrible as possible.

I've had characters in the past that had many pages of crimes. I knew IC & OOCly that if thrown in jail I'd serve a long [REDACTED] jail term which didn't bother me at all. Just be lucky the jail system isn't like real life, and end up with a jail term for life.

Let me remind you a little fact: This is a GAME and conflict/warfare (aka crimes) should be rather encouraged than discouraged. Otherwise it's boring and there's no reason to play it.

You're dumb. As if people wouldnt kill more and more anyways, with a cap or not. It wouldnt make people go on killing sprees, but it would help to avoid griefing players by making them spend hours or days (of RL time) at a time, on this mud they play for enjoyment, staring at the screen doing nothing. You seem to think jail is fun or something. :/
